This is exactly my situation! I have two dresses, one that’s just OK and one that I love. I tried on both dresses and everyone voted for the meh one and no one thougth I should wear the one I love. I still haven’t decided whether to just go for the one I love or whether to keep looking. We are eloping but I want to look good in pictures.

@alicat2:  Have you done a dress poll here? I’m wondering if I should do that. The thing is, I already know that if everyone votes for the meh dress, I’m not going to be swayed into liking it. We have to wear a dress we love!

I did a dress poll on here with one picture of me in a dress, and one of the stock photo of another dress. Everyone voted for the one I was pictured in (in a massive landslide. every single person voted for it) because they couldn’t see what the other one looked like on me. But I ended up going with my gut and got the one that everyone voted against. Its all about what feels best for you, and now that those posters have actually seen me in the dress I chose, they told me I made the right decision. And for reference, here is the dress everyone voted for:

Here is the stock photo of my actual dress:

And here’s me in the dress I ended up choosing:

Its all about what you feel is best for you.

@Over the Moon:  you are eloping?……to Iceland?

That may be the coolest (baahaha, no pun intended) wedding on here.

I’m wearing a dress that everyone in my REAL life loves! I love it too!

But, on here, everytime I see someone posting about buying my dress, they get a lot of ewww I hate that dress and I’m tired of seeing it.

I’m wearing Adorae, which is apparently a very popular dress, which I had no idea of until I bought it. I had major dress regret for a while after seeing all the awful comments on here, but then I decided whatever! No one in my real life will know it’s a popular dress and I love it!

It’s annoying hearing people talk bad about your dress, but don’t listen to anyone else, if you love it…rock it!

Yup, I feel like not many people, at least on this board, like my dress. It makes me have dress regret but, people in my real life say they love it and cried when I put it on so I hope it will all be ok.

When a dress is on you and you are all done up and accesoried for your big day you look so different. I hated the stock photo so I just told everyone that I couldn’t find a picture online. And then the pictures of me before alteration with no accesories and makeup and hair undone weren’t the best so I showed them to a couple of people and got a negative reaction. But on that day I looked and felt amazing and anyone who had a negative opinion of my dress complimented me.

@Robin_Sparkles:  I hear ya! I also decided on the Adorae and I love it! I was only engaged about 2 weeks, when I went and tried on dresses & it was the one my mom & I fell in love with. But now I keep seeing it everywhere… At first I was kind of bummed out and wished I would’ve waited to try on more.  But you are so right that no one in my real life will even care that it’s a popular dress.

Im not sure if I am wearing it yet but here is my dress

As you can tell Im slouching because I am not quite comfortable in the strapless and its pretty much a tie on the bee whether I should keep it or not. I loved it on. 🙁

I totally agree about the fit having something to do with it! When I tried on my two dresses, both were too small for me (I ordered them small on purpose). So neither fit, but one is a-line and the other is a subtle fit-and-flare. Everyone voted for the a-line and I think it’s just because that silhouette is more forgiving. When I can fit into the dress I prefer (almost there!) I think it’ll make a world of difference.
