My bridesmaids tell me I should wear a veil simply because it’s “wedding-y” and “it’s required!” LOL They’re more traditionalists than I am, though, and I’m not planning on wearing one because my dress is very casual and it wouldn’t really fit with the look I’m going for.
But I’m curious.
How many of you ladies are wearing a veil?

I didn’t want to wear one to start off with, but my bridal gown consultant found one that went perfect with my gown.

I just never wanted one. My mom didn’t have one, and she never regretted it, so I’m just going to find some sort of something to stick in my hair :).

Im undecided! Fiance has expressed his “Hate” for veils and I want to use it in hopes of “softening” my back tattoo! =) But I do know that I want a pretty haircomb if anything!

You certainly wouldn’t be required to wear one. You’ll just have to try it on with your dress to see if you like it or not. I didn’t think I wanted one, but once I put it on with my dress, I finally felt like a “bride”.

My dress is the J. Crew Gracie; it’s a sleek halter style that has a really casual vibe to it. I’ve already decided 100% that I don’t want to wear one; I was just interested as to what other Bees’ attitudes are towards veils. 🙂

I am looking forward to wearing my veil almost more than my dress. When I was little, my mom made wedding dresses and she made the prettiest veils. She made one for a lady that was a raw edge French Silk Tulle veil that I have never gotten out of my head. I couldn’t wait to order mine and have had a hard time not tring it on every ten minutes.

Yes! But not over my face for the ceremony.

Yes, I’m wearing one, but it’s not traditional. I’m wearing a black birdcage veil with a red flower and feather headpiece. My dress designer is making it and I am beyond excited!

No chance. If I wear anything at all in my hair, it will be a single flower that I’m sure will not last the day.

I haven’t decided yet. I MIGHT wear a birdcage…. or I might just wear a headband…. or I might pull my hair half up with a sparkly barrette. I am definitely NOT wearing a traditional “bride-y” veil though. Not me.

I wasn’t interested in wearing a veil at the beginning but now I think I like it better than my dress.

I wanted to wear a birdcage, but I have glasses so it would have been too much. Instead, I had a fake magnolia with a little charm glued to the inside (my “something blue”).

I wasn’t going to wear one initially but my friend looked so gorgeous in her birdcage veil at her wedding last Summer, I decided to get one.

I’m leaning towards wearing my hair half up and half down with a pearl/rhinestone barette with just a bit of tulle hanging down. I’d post a picture, but I’ve not made it yet.
