I saw a pearl necklace, that was three rows of pearls but worried that pearls would be weird to wear with a wedding dress.. and I am really just gripping at an old bias to pearls or should you not wear them on your wedding
I wore my grandmother's pearls for my wedding. :) It's a single strand my mom had restrung for me. I think pearls are beautiful and very "bride-y." I will post a pic when I go home at lunch, but pearls are very classic, and imo, go well with a lot of different styles of dresses.
Pearls are a classic timeless look especially for weddings, but they aren't for everyone. I didn't like the look of a strand with my dress, but chose to get a pendant with one pearl and this pretty white gold swirl with some diamond chips. For my girls I just made strands with swarovski pearls and gemstones. Just be careful that three strands don't take away from your dress!!
I'm wearing lots of pearls! I am wearing one strand that my momg gave me when I was 16 for my something old, and two strands I am borrowing--so I will have three strands layered, all a little bit different. I think it is a neat way to spin the classic look of pearls into something a bit more modern.
I'm wearing Mirian Haskell baroque pearls. I think they go with my dress beautifully!

I wore pearls, but not a traditional pearl necklace. My dress was realllly white and I was worried about not being able to match the pearls to it exactly, so I found this necklace at Nordstrom.

I wore a strand of pearls with sapphire accents. My dress was an ivory/goldish color and I thought they matched pretty well. If you find a pearl necklace that you like, wear it! As you can see in this thread there are tons of different ways to wear them.

I'm not wearng pearls because I'm doing a bare neck with chandelier earrings, but if I was wearing a necklace it would be pearls. My friend who got married this weekend wore pearls and they just look so timeless and elegant. I like it simpler though - 1 strand - but that's just my personal taste.

I'm wearing a single pearl with some crystals. I made it myself. I think pearls add a very bridal look. BUT there is so much you can do to make it your own.

I am doing a layerd preal look. I think I will have 4-5 strans. My dress is very simple, so it works well. I am also having my mom and MOH wear a single or double stran. Pearls are just one of my fevs!
It's hard to go wrong with pearls for a wedding, but there are so many more styles to choose from these days if you don't want to do the classic single strand Jackie O look.
I wanted to wear a strand of pearls, but my dress was light gold so I knew white wouldn't match (and those gold south sea pearls are mega expensive!) so I found a single south sea pearl on overstock.com and it was great with my dress :) I looooove pearls! Earrings had a bit of pearls in them as well

I am not going to wear a necklace because my dress has lots of detail and I don't want to take away from it so I am having a customized bracelet which is quite elabarote and it is pearl and then custom chandelier earrings! Plus I am wearing a veil and minimal tiara which has topaz and champagne color stones so I don't want to have too much going on!

My grandmother gave my mother a strand of freshwater pearls as an engagement present 30 years ago, so I'm going to wear those along with some drop pearl earrings I got on etsy.
My grandfather gave my grandmother a strand of Miki Moto pearls for their 1 year anniversary, and she gave them to me :) I will be wearing those to remember both of them on my wedding day.
I'm wearing my grandmothers. My grandfather bought her 3 strands, when he was stationed in Germany. They are real, and beautiful. They had 3 children together, and each child got a necklace for their children. I can't wait to wear them, I just hope they go with my dress!
ACTUALLY, I'm hope that I'm over doing pearls. I just thought the other day, my veil & head band have rhinestones & pearls on them, I'm wearing a pearl necklace, and I have a pair of earrings with pearls. I think that might be too much for me.
I love pearls! I think they're so classy and elegant. I think they look amazing with a wedding dress.
I think it's amazing that so many of you have a strand of pearls that have been passed down through generations. That's so special. I'd love to pass mine down to my granddaughter someday.

I won't be wearing a strond of pearls, but my bolero (to wear during the reception) is covered in pearls and I'll be wearing drop peal earrings.

I'm wearing pearls! A single strand that my parents gave me for my high school graduation, pearl drop earrings that my grandmother bought me as an engagement gift, and a bracelet that FI gave me for my birthday. IMO, they are very "bridal."
I would have worn pearls, but my dress had a high halter neckline that made wearing a necklace unnecessary.

Sure, why not wear pearls! It's your day....who cares! If you think that they go well with your dress go for it. I've actually looked into pearls as well. Try www.modernluxuri.com for super cute handmade jewelry. I've already order things from there and they have been fabulous!

A wedding is the best occasion to wear pearls! They are so classy and timeless and can be worn in so many different ways. I will be wearing them in some way, shape, or form. Not sure how exactly yet, but I have a double strand necklace that was my mom's that has potential.
My necklace has some pearls in it with crystal beads as well. Since there is beading on my dress and I am wearing a necklace I will probably go simple with the earings - I am thinking of possibly just wearing pearl stud earrings.
i was going to wear pearls, but they just didn't look right with my dress. Instead I'll be wearing a necklace that my Daddy bought me - with just a single pearl. It is perfect!

I'm planning on wearing pearls. I have an old set from my grandmother. I thought they'd go well with some jewelery Mr. S bought me (pearl earrings and a sheel and pearl bracelet). We'll see. I haven't tried the whole thing together yet.
If I can find a simple strand of white pearls I am planning one wearing them at my wedding. = )
I am planning on wearing the single strand of pearls my fiance bought for me when he was overseas. There wasn't even an occasion for him to buy such a thing and it reminds me everyday that he thought of me during a time when he really didn't have to! Awww I adore it! I wear it a lot though (mostly for sentimental value) so I should probably stash it away so that I can feel like everyone will have a fresh look on them for the wedding day. :)
I'm not wearing a necklace as my dress is a halter, but I will be purchasing some pearl earrings to wear. I think pearls are so timeless and classy. How could you go wrong?!

I am wearing a teardrop pearl pendant with matching pearl drop earrings and a single strand pearl bracelet. Pearls are the tradition pick of brides.
I loooove pearls, to me they say bride! Although, at this point I'm not sure if I'm going to wear a necklace at all...but I'm a year out!
