who is wearing spanx under your wedding dress? why or why not?

i still cant decide if i want spanx or a slip? i am a plus size bride...which will give me more "support" and help me look slimmer? ;D

I thought I would until I tried some on and they had the boning/lining/corset - and I don't see how it would really do anything on top of that

my dress has a built in corset (laces up under the dress, seamless and awesome!) so i will be wearing pretty lacy panties under it and nothing else oo la la!  never thought about spanx... i just knew i wanted a dress with its own structure.

I did.  I'm bottom-heavy.  The Spanx didn't so much make me smaller as smooth out the lumps of fat.  However, that still made a big difference in my appearance.

I ALWAYS wear spanx under dresses that are fitted. It makes everything smooth. My wedding dress is not fitted so I won't have to, but I love spanx!

I was sure I would be but in the end I ditched them.  The dress had enough structure and ruching that I didn't think they made that much difference and I really hate those suckers!

I'm using some other version of spanx.  It's like spanx, but they are from Kohl's.  Spanx didn't fit me right, they went up way over my boobs when they are supposed to stay under the boobs.

I'm wearing a v-string from the VS Pink line. I could wear jeans under my dress though, and it wouldn't matter. :p

I'm wearing a different version of Spanx from Dillards.. my dress is a very fitted satin trumpet gown so I gotta hold it all in! ;)

Hehe, I just thought I'd add that I saw Tyra Bank's spanx peeking out from under her skirt on her show yesterday!

HA! It's nice to know that celebrities have celulite and lumps just like the rest of us! :)

I got lucky and didn't need them.  Thankfully my dress wasn't very slinky and was built not to need them so I went with the cute lacy underwear and a long line bra- which worked well for afterwards too :)

i bought them, and brought them with me ready to wear. but in the end i decided not to. i tested them out as a guest at other people's weddings, and they just were so uncomfortable. i just couldn't do that to myself on my wedding day.

I love spanx and wear them with all my dresses when I go out - i'm plus sized as well.  my wedding dress is corseted so I don't thinkg that I will need them on the big day and probably won't wear them with my dress but I am a huge fan on how them smooth everything out and I don't find them too uncomfortable at all.

I think it depends on the dress. My dress hugs the waist/hips, but it's heavy and structured enough that nothing else is required to hold me in. So I'll be wearing a longline corset/bra amnd comfy undies under my dress, but no Spanx!

I have a fit and flare, and I want my hips to look narrower.  There is boning in the corset, so not worried about the upper torso.  I also want to cover any panty lines!  I'll have to find something that works~

I can't decide.  I have worn them with other dresses and like them, but... uh... tmi here, but they make me have to pee way more often because they're so tight.  That could be a problem with the wedding dress!  So I'll wait until the fitting to decide if I can get away without wearing them or not...

I was certain that I would wear spanx under my dress, until I tried the dress on with the spanx and the back is too low to pull it off. So, I instead opted to go with another line that had a backless, strapless body shaper. Try on the dress with spanx and without and see which looks better. Good luck!

I'm going to get a pair of Assets this weekend and wear them with a dress that has a low back to a wedding next Friday. If they don't drive me crazy, I'll wear them with my dress. If they do, well I guess I just won't eat for the next 2 months. HA!

I plan to wear them but I thought about wearing these cute little white panties that say bride in blue rhinestones that I got for a lingerie shower gift.  I don't know that the spanx really make that much of a difference with my dress.  So I think I'll try both on and get the girls opinons.

I'm either getting on a diet and working out every day or wearing Assets I went to Target the other day they are only like thirty dollars.

Nope. I want to eat and my mermaid fit is tight enough. I'm not putting something else restricting under there! I'm going for my undies and that's it!

I don't feel like spanx do very much for me. I'm wearing a bustier, and I think the boning in that does more to slim and smooth.

I might.  At the moment, I'm losing weight and if I continue at this pace, I won't need spanx and I might have to have my dress taken in.

I wore spanx when trying on dresses and it really makes a difference!

I'm buying a pair and am bringing them to my first fitting next month.  If I can get away wthout them, I'd love to not but my dress is so fitted I think I'll need them to smooth out some lumps! :)
