There was a great article in Brides Mag this time around that had very cute and different vows. It seemed they all were personal and funny. It may not be the standard but they were theirs that was for sure. I really want to write our own but Mr. FF isn't like the idea but I know his would be amazing!
We wrote our ceremony ourselves. The Cherry Pie post is a gem. I received many recommendations for "The Wedding Ceremony Planner", by J. Johnson. It was TREMENDOUSLY helpful. Get it from your local library. :)
Also, don't forget indiebride.com--they have a whole thread for self-written ceremonies.
I have some posts over on WeddingbeePRO about it, and 2000 dollar wedding just updated her list of complete wedding ceremonies available online --> http://2000dollarwedding.com/2009/08/unique-and-interesting-wedding-ceremony.html
I think Susanna Macomb's Combining Hands and Hearts (I think that's what is called), as well as Johnson's Wedding Ceremony Planner are FABULOUS resources, too!
PS: If you need some vow inpiration, PM me and I'll email you my big list of vows along with tips on writing your own. A lot of my couples find it really helpful.
as much as we can. we are doing a religious ceremony in a church and i don't know what kind of restrictions they will have. i'll be checking back on this for other ideas.
Thank you a lot Girls! I am checking those links @jessieblum and maybe one friend would let me use her "wedding ceremony planner" book because it's really hard to get it here in Chile :) yay
IndieBride was invaluable for helping us write our vows. They have a huge vow repository and I think I read every single one of the posts and then came up with some preliminary vows. Hubby and I then tweeked them a bit and made them our own. Now that the wedding is over (and because I love them so much) I'll even share them!!!
X/Y I take you to be my husband/wife. I promise to be a partner to you, to lean on you when I need strength and to hold you when I am strong. To create with you a sanctuary of warmth and peace, which celebrates laughter, friendship and compassion, and to communicate fully and fearlessly. I will strive to be slow to anger and quick to forgive. I will respect you as an individual, a partner and an equal, knowing that we do not complete, but compliment each other. I will love you deeply and truly for all the days of my life.
Our minister helped us to create a simple, beautiful non-denominational ceremony and I am happy to share it with whoever needs help, just pm me!
