Whoops... I voted before I read. I didn't realize this was only for Dec weddings. I got married in March and our numbers were slightly lower than expected.
Hi, I didn't vote because I'm not a Dec. bride. I am getting married the day after you and I have way more guests than expected. We were expecting 400 we now have about 540.
@trugem: That's INSANE. How many people did you invite?! You're over by a whole other average wedding's guest count!
It got out of hand. People are really trying hard to come to our wedding. IDK if it is because they want something to do on NYD or if it is because it is OUR wedding. We are high school sweethearts and have dated for over 7 years so some people see us as an example.
We do have large families so that is why we knew it would be around 400 people (both our families go back about 5 generations). I am still surprised that we have over 500. The good thing is that my church and venue can hold that many people.
Lower! We are still waiting to get final word from a few people. We invited 170 and expected to have about 130. It's looking like we're going to have about 110. Most of the RSVPs were what we expected, except for my dad's family (accounts for about 10 people). They live on the other side of a mountain pass from us and they're too concnered about the snow on the pass and have just decided not to come. They're fairly close relatives so I'm more than pissed given that they don't even know what the weather will be like...So I'm trying to concentrate instead about all the people that ARE coming, some of which were surprises.
Just a few more than I expected.
Well originally I expected much less!!
Then, I later predicted a higher amount about 60 to 65. We are only 2 over that, at 67.
@sapphirebride: I hear ya- there are some people who I expected but aren't travelling b/c of the weather.... bad excuse in my books. Mind you I've driven half way across the country in December.
We're a bit lower than expected but here the thing- I can't tell forsure. I had all my wedding stuff on a flash drive and can't find the flash drive so I need to go through all of my rsvp cards and figure it out. I kept putting off backing my info up and now I'm paying for it. Oops!
I'm not a December bee (January, here) but we just got back all our RSVPs and we expected about 130, and ended up with about 105! There are a few people I'm disappointed can't come, but overall I'm happy it's a lower number. Our church & venue are both small so it'll work out well.
We invited about 375, and we are preparing for 225. We really only have 195 RSVP's for yes, but we have a few outstanding, so better safe than sorry.
We are serving heavy appetizers, so having an exact guest count isn't a huge deal. We are having seating and food for 225, just to be safe.
Honestly, I thought we would be closer to 150.
i haven't voted yet because we haven't gotten all of our rsvp's back yet (i know that's an option, but i didn't want to pick it, lol).
we invited 267 people. we're shooting for 220 (our venue can seat 220 comfortably, and up to 242 with a bit of a tight fit by adding one extra chair to every table (we're trying to avoid this though)). we currently have 192 yes responses and 20 that are still outstanding. so things are looking alright. even if all the 20 outstandings are yes's, we'll still be good. i doubt they will be though. so it's looking like we're going to come in right around 200, maybe even a little lower. :D
