actually they are iether allot older or younger i cant seem to get along with anyone the exact same age at the same time lol.
My friends are mostly older - the majority of my friends are the in same program as I am at A&M, and they are mostly all a little bit older than me...but not much.
We do spend a TON of time with my sister and brother in law, though, who are about 10 years older than us! I don't know that I really have many friends at all who are much younger than me.
Some are a little younger, some are a little older. But other than my 29yo friend dating a (just barely) 20yo woman, they're mostly right around my age.
I work with a lot of people around my age (I am 25) and we are pretty social together as well; however FI is 30 and has a lot of older friends, again, because of his job. Interesting how that works out!
Most of my friends are older than I am, especially my hubby and mine's coworkers. We're both some of the younger people at our offices, so naturally we'd hang out with the older ones. I'd say on average most of our friends are about 4-5 years older.
Most of my friends are my age. My FI is a few years younger than me so some of his friends are his age but a lot of his friends are more my age.
We are in our early 20s, but our friends say we are like an old couple. Our friends tend to be older because they are more our speed.
I have a really good mix. My closest friend is about 2 years younger than me. My other friends are about 3 years older than me, so I think it's a great mix.
The deck is stacked against me, considering that Mr. DG is 11 years younger and that I went to med school in my late 20's. Needless to say, the majority of my friends are significantly younger. But my good girlfriends from college are my age and finally starting to get married too!
I've always gotten along with friends that are older than me. Most of my friends are in their young 30s and I'm 25. Not too far off, but older nonetheless.
Most of my friends are a lot older than me, by like 6-12 years!
I've always been drawn to people older than me... :) Perhaps its because I'm so mature? lol yeah. right.
I'm still best friends with a group of girls who I have known since we were kids, and we're all the same age. Everyone else is pretty much within a year or two of me... with the exception of my "work friends" who are mostly 5-6 years old than me :)
For the longest time my friends were mostly older. I was always the youngest in my grade because I have a late October birthday (tomorrow!).
I'm the oldest in my family, though, so I've made friends with some of my younger siblings' friends, especially since my parents moved after I graduated from high school so I don't live anywhere near my old friends anymore.
Aside from the Dude's friends who I also consider my friends, most of my friends are about the same age as me, give or take a year.
I pretty much don't have friends my own age right now...well I don't really have any friends I hang out with in my free time, but all my work friend are younger and all my school friends are older since I'm the youngest in my masters program.
I'm 25, FI is 26, and most of our friends are actually between 40-65. This has a lot to do with me, though, as these are people that are very close to me, and consequently FI, and I've known them since I was a kid. We go out to dinner, have parties together, etc. I only have three close friends that are my age (FI has more), the rest are a good bit older. I grew up with no young neighbors and was kind of a loner, so the people I learned to communicate with were all adults, so that's just who I feel the most comfortable around. I wasn't a very "young" person, I never really did young person stuff- no camps, no attending of birthday parties, no parties really hah, no drinking/drugs/youthful rebellion, so I've had some issues connecting to people my age. Kind of socially crippling in college though hah, but I was happy regardless.
I'm glad no one voted "I don't have friends" -- that would be sad! Most of our friends are a bit younger than my hubby and I by 2-3 years or so. I don't know why but it works.
My friends are my age and older. FI's friends are his age and younger. Which is great, because he's 7 years older than me.
Mostly older...amongst the first for people graduating around my year. I hvae friends 3 years older than me that got married last year, but I'm one of the first for some "groups" i hang out in. I have...3 friends that got married before me and they're all like 27. But i'm only 23, so definitely one of the "First young ones". I like my older friends. I do struggle with connecting with my younger friends b/c their maturity level sorta gets to me.
Since I've left high school the only new people I have really met have been my fiance's friends. He is 24 and considered the baby of his group. I'm 20.. most of our friend are 6-10 years older.. I always feel like a baaaaby.. but a lot of people say they wouldn't know I was 20 if they hadn't asked.
I've never thought about this before, but I guess more are younger than older.
My closest friends are pals from grade school. It's amazing to look back at how long we've been friends and I'm so grateful for these friendships!

I always thought of myself as someone who hangs with the older crowd, but then I realized that a good portion of my closest friends are actually younger than me.
So what about you? Do you hang with people your age, older, or younger? Were you among the first to get married...or towards the last?
