Today is FI’s parents 31st anniversary and it has got me thinking about how many of us bees have parents who are still married. What about your SO/FI/DH’s parents?
My parents have been married 25 years but they definitely have a different type of relationship than my fiance’s parents. I believe they still love each other, but they hardly ever spend any time together (even when they are both home) and I rarely hear them say “I love you.” FI’s parents are still very affectionate and care deeply about each other and its obvious to most anyone who meets them. They have had their hard times and struggles, but they are such an inspiration to me.

Nope, my parents divorced when I was 6.
DH’s parents are still together, and have been married for 30 years next year.

My parents and FI’s parents are still married. I look up to both sets of parents and hope that our marriage will be as strong as theirs. 🙂

My parents are going to celebrate 29 years in July. They are still very much in love and in my 25 years I’ve only ever seen them fight maybe 3 times. I hope to have a marriage like my parents.

Yep – both mine and DH’s parents are still married and very much in love. My parents have been married over 25 years and DH’s a couple years longer than that.
Both our pastor and our pre-marriage counselor commented that DH and I have such good examples of wonderful marriages to follow in our parents!
ETA: @MrsPinkPeony: Your parents sound like my parents. I’ve only seen my parents fight a couple times in my 23 years of life.

Our parents have both been married 30 and 35 years respectively. I am so happy that they stuck it out and I know it hasn’t always been easy. FI’s parents are really cute to each other. They hide notes everywhere for each other to find.

My parents have been divorced for 21 years. My FH’s parents will be together 40 years in June. But my dad and his wife (love her!) will be married for 14 years in June! 🙂

i have the most adorable parents ever! i hope that my FI & i will be like them in 30 years =) they still love to spend time together, they go shopping together, my dad helps my mom with her homework (she has been taking classes online), and they great together. almost all of my friends have parents that are divorced, so it makes me even more thankful for my parents. FI’s parents are also still married. they’re relationship works for them, but i think FI & i have a relationship more like my parents rather than his.

My biological parents are not. They split up when my mom was pregnant with me. My biological father passed away when I was in highschool.
However my mom met my step dad and married him when I was a yr old. I have always thought of my step dad as my dad, since he basically raised me.
They are still going strong 30+ years later
