I just tried a new bread recipe and it totally didn’t work. It tasted WAY too yeasty. My oven made it worst…the top and bottom were really dark and starting to burn while the inside was all doughy…BLAH! I’m no Betty Crocker, but I can bake. I’ve successfully made bread many times, but apparently not so much tonite!

oh no! I have only tried my hand at quick breads. Is it difficult to learn how to “read” yeast?

You’re brave for even trying to make bread. I am not a baker, I have tried and have failed miserably. Maybe it’s not you, blame it on the recipe!

Bummer about your Baking Fail! I think every good baker/cook has at least one terrible cooking story.
Did you have a metal or glass bread pan? Sometimes the pan will make it cook unevenly. You might also try rotating it in your oven–sometimes certain spots in the oven are hotter than others.

I have one of those pampered chef baking pans that are like the stones. I’m gunna chalk it up to the recipe…it was a new one I tried.
