Honestly, condoms suck. Anyway you can chart and have sex around your fertile periods?

Honestly, your bodies will get used to them before too long. Buy the thinnest ones to help your FI with sensitivity, and use lube for yourself, and eventually your body won’t reject them so hard. When we got off BCP and started using condoms, I would dry up and chafe like hell. But before long, my vag got used to them and started acting normal again. Patience!

@ajillity81:  You may also want to try different brands of condoms — maybe you think you’re Trojan people but you’re secretly Durex people and never knew it! Once I retrained my vjj on condoms (hadn’t really consistently used them since, like, high school), they’re not a problem anymore. In fact, sometimes I like them when DH wants to have sex at night and I’m too tired to deal with cleanup afterwards, haha. Very convenient!

@ajillity81:  I would just go back on the pills until you’re ready to try to conceive.  Or just deal with condom sex.  I don’t see other options.

And I don’t understand wanting to get pregnant immediately.  Why not enjoy married life for a bit??

@peachacid:  If she wants to try for children right away, she should! Just because it isn’t for you doesn’t mean it isn’t for everyone. It’s not your place to comment on anyone’s timing.

@ajillity81:  We did that a few years ago when I went off BC. I was terrible about remembering to take it, and I just didn’t like taking a pill every day.

We did not like condoms. It felt “off” and unnatural. That led to putting the condom on at the last second and unplanned pregnancy becoming a higher possibility.

My solution? I got an IUD. Sorry, I know that doesn’t help you any! Good luck soldiering through the condoms.

ETA: We did try different brands. The thinner, the better. Trojan has some new condom out but can’t remember the name.

Just saw rcab’s post. We did pull-out method here and there as well. If you are planning on a baby in 3 months, go for it. That didn’t work for us because we definitely didn’t want a baby, and it was risky.
