So I ordered delivery cookies & brownies for my BF to be delivred today, Valentine’s Day, at his office. I placed the order around the first, it was shipped the 9th, and while I know much of the mid-west has been hit with snow and ice, we ony had one day in the last 2 weeks where anything shut down. I’ve been cheking the tracking on the packing like the OCD freak I am, and all was fine… until 2:40 I get an email that “adverse weather” in the last hub before coming to my town delayed my package and there’s no telling when it will be delievered. Adverse weather my a$$ – it’s been over 60-70º the last several days, and we’ve gotten shipments all week at work from all delivery companies.
I called, complained, and was told that apparently ONE location of the 5 my package has passed through, has a “high volume” of packages today… and it’s the last hub on the way here. Soooo, my SO “might” get his cookies sometime this week… if at all.

That sucks, I’m sorry :(. I mail things thru UPS all the time & yea the weather can hold stuff up (which is frustrating to everybody), but usually they’re really good at getting it to you as soon as possible after that. Maybe you can just extend celebrating Valentines day.

I hate UPS, they’re total jerks when they actually deliver stuff. Half the time they just leave it outside my building, buzz, and are already zooming away down the street before I’m even in the elevator. Thanks guys, glad just anybody walking by could take my parcel…

I’d not mind if they told me my package was on a truck that broke down, or that they’re short on driver, etc… but we’ve not had bad wether here except for one day 2 weeks ago… the package didn’t pass through any snowed-in areas. It was “on time” until this morning, but it wasn’t updated till this afternoon. And when I spoke to their rep on the phone, she made it sound like they were overwhelemd on that ONE particular truck… meanwhile my office has gotten UPS and FedEx shipments without fail, even in the worst of our weather. She made it sound like it was too much work for them to bother getting time sensitve packages to customers (She had the whole, “I’m bored with you, so hang up” sound to her, which made me more upset.)
I usually don’t have a problem with them, and the UPS guys who deliver know me on site (yeah, lots o’ amazon orders), but every now and then they decide my office is closed when we’re open, and then this. Grr.

The same thing happened to me. My package was traveling to my destination for 3 days! The place that it was coming from is only 3.5 hours away! It is supposed to be out for delivery right now. I called the store that I ordered from and they gave me my money back for the shipping (it was supposed to be 2 day shipping).
Fingers crossed that it comes today!
