I have been waiting quite paitiently for my propics and since all of the pics were taken ditgitally I figured it wouldn’t take very long to get online. However it is not over a month from my wedding and still no pro pics. I emailed and here is the response I got. What would you do???
I have been working huge hours on updating our website and just got done. I will be working on your wedding next week. I’m not certain when it will be done, but it won’t take too long. Sorry for the delay – it was a complete overhaul of the website that took around two months of solid work till the wee hours of the morning often. It was absolutely urgent – our website was very badly out of date – it had not been truly updated for around three years. Thank you for your patience. I’m sure the images will be great and I am looking forward to working on them.

Does it say in your contract how long your photog has to deliver the photos? I’ve generally seen anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks to deliver the edited pics to you, so a month doesn’t seem that unreasonable. I know it must be hard to wait though–sorry!

thanks for the perspective….I didn’t even think about editing….

I know it’s really hard to wait, but I think the average for turnaround on edited wedding pics is about 1.5-2 months. Our took a little over a month, and I was SO antsy at that point!
I kind of wish your photographer hadn’t gone on and on about how they needed tp update their website. That was kind of weird. I would imagine you’ll see something in 2-4 weeks.

“i’m sure the images will be great” so she hasn’t even looked at them yet?!
We got to see 5 teasers about 8 weeks after the wedding (took FOREVAH) but didn’t get to see them on the website until about 3-4 months later. It sucked!

Yep I’ve seen it take about 2-3 months for some. My photographer said that it would take awhile because there were 3 cameras taking photos and they average about 1500 images per camera. They said they do a first pass and delete any images that aren’t good ie. blurry/eyes closed etc. They said then they each (3 photographers) go through and pick their favorite photos. Then the last step is to edit them before they send. So if you think about all the work that they do of narrowing down to the top photos, that takes awhile.
Plus this is the wedding season time that they most likely are booked almost every weekend.

My contract says 8-12 weeks as well. I would of course HOPE for them sooner, but I think 2-3 months is pretty standard.

I guess the more frustrating part is the fact that he gives me the impression that he has not even begun on them! grr
