Aria bridesmaids sizing?

posted 2 months ago in Beehive

Hello Hive!  Has anyone here ordered dresses from AriaDress.com?  I really love their selection of designs and fabric, but there's one problem.  I have a bridesmaid who is very petite -- 5'0" and a street size 0 -- and based on their size chart it looks like their smallest size will still be way too big for her.  I'm a street size 4; according to the Aria chart, I'd wear their smallest size, a 0, and my bridesmaid is a *lot* smaller than I am.

For those of you who've used Aria: do their dresses really run as big as it looks like on the size chart?  Like I said, I love the line, but I don't want to saddle my petite bridesmaid with a huge alterations bill, that doesn't seem fair.

Hi MelissaB- I just got married back in July, and all of my bridesmaids wore Aria dresses. We were fortunate to be able to go to their D.C. show room to to try the dresses on, but I believe they have an option where they can mail you a sample. I can actually say that the dresses were pretty much true to all of my bridesmaids street sizes. They all had to make minimal alterations, if any. I had two very petite bridesmaids, and they were fine ordering a size O petite. One really nice thing about the dresses is that they offer petite sizes. All of my bridesmaids were 5'4 or under, and the petite option was nice because it meant the front boning didn't go too far down (which is very uncomfortable when you sit). I went with the silk shatung material which was very nice and light...a great option if you are having an outdoor summer wedding. If you have any other questions feel free to message me...I can also send you pics :0)

My bridesmaids just ordered their dresses from Aria. One of them is a street size zero petite (she's teeny!!) and her measurements matched their size 0. I did the sample try on program and ordered a size 8 and I wear a street size 8 and it fit like a glove (I did it to make sure I like the style haha)! All of the girls that are under 5'4" ordered petite. The delivery date isn't until November so I can't tell you how they fit them, but the sample fit me perfect and matched my street size. If you are worried about the sizing I would definitely suggest the sample program, it's only $15 plus shipping back to them. I'm going with them because the leaf color is the perfect green I have been searching for!! :-)

I wore an Aria bm dress standing for my friend's wedding - I went to the DC store and was in between size 4 and 6 (I'm usually a street 6), so the 6 is a bit loose for me. I also recommend the sample program. Worst comes to worst, you can order the 0 and have it taken in! (that's what I did for mine).

Goodluck! I loved my Aria dress! :)

Thanks so much, ladies!  I feel a lot less nervous about Aria knowing others thought they ran true to size.  I did order a gown to try on, it will arrive on Tuesday.  Also, my petite BM lives in DC so she could definitely go to the showroom herself if she wanted!  If the 0 really is huge for her, I can always pay for the alterations myself.
