Just wondering how much I could accomplish if I got busy NOW with regard to toning up my flabby upper arms. I don’t want to be cringing in my pics and my dress is strapless, but I will have short sleeves / off the shoulder added, but still. It’s just gross.
Is there still hope / time?

I think there’s still time for you to get your arms more toned. If my count is right, you still have 9 weeks until your wedding. If you were to start a diet & exercise routine now, you could very safely lose 1 or 2 pounds per week, which would give you 9 – 18 pounds off before the wedding. This would help thin you out all over, including your arms. Throw in lots of arm toning exercises, and your arms will be that much more defined and beautiful in your dress.
Did you ever see that show Bulging Brides? If I remember right, they showcased brides who were 8 weeks away from their wedding, and those women were able to accomplish some major toning in those few weeks. You can do it, you’ll just need to get on it now and stick with it!

There is definitely time to shape up your arms! While you cannot guarantee results in one area only (spot reducing), there are ways to improve the muscle in that area. To get rid of the “flabby” though, you will need to do cardio. You will also need to do strengthening exercises to tone up the muscle in that area. There are lots of strengthening exercises for your arms that you can use. I would focus on exercises that work your arms, shoulders, upper back and chest as opposed to just your arms. That way the whole area that will be seen in your dress will look nice and toned.

start doing cardio! the elliptical is good and easy if you’re just starting, plus you can add resistance to the arms on it.

I have been using a site called NowLoss.com, and the exercises that I am doing are working; not as fast as I would like, but they are working. They have videos to show you how to do the exercises and they also show you different levels for each exercise and they also give you a bunch of different exercises to choose from, so you can find the right one(s) for you.

Jillian Michaels “No More Trouble Zones”. I did this every day for five weeks (with a few days skipped in the beginning cuz I was so sore) and ate very well (lean meats, veggies, egg whites, whole wheat bread– if bread cant be avoided, lots of fruit…). I’m 5’3 and went from 135 to 120. I also drank three cups of green tea a day (burns calories). Good luck!!!

Although I’m plus-sized and post-wedding, I would like to recommend doing cardio. Jilian Michael’s 30 Day Shred is amazing!!! Great combo of cardio and weight training…and the best part it’s a short workout that produces a strong sweat! Also, I’d like to strongly suggest the Shake Weight. I know that the commercials are goofy as can be, but it WORKS!!! Best Wishes to you!!!

I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It’s cheap (less than $10 at Target), it’s fast and it’s only 25 minutes long. Although those may be the longest 25 minutes of your life. I also was super careful with my diet.
