Why does he want to wait until May (which don’t kill me…but it only two months away)? Can he compromise on the timeline? Does he understand most people don’t get pregnant their first try? If he won’t budge, maybe you can use the time to choose an OB/GYN, visit for a pre-conception appointment, get your diet/health in line, start taking pre-natal vitamins, chart your cycles and do a few things to woop it up as a non-parent. Good luck!

@Songbird29:  First of all, Congratulations in all your accomplishments.  Second, don’t think because your cousin had problems conceiving, you might have the same result.  We are all built different.  There are many bees here that get their BFP the first cycle trying.  Try to stay positive.  Have you gotten a check up with your regular doc or gyno?  Maybe you should start on that, so you are ready for May.  I know what you mean about your age.  Age is a big factor, but getting ready to TTC also is.  May is around the corner, try to stay positive and FX for you, lady ;)))

Have you asked him why he wants to wait til May? Have you explained to him your concerns due to your ages? I would have a frank conversation with him about why you feel the way you do and have him explain why he feels the way he does. Maybe you can compromise and start in April instead of May? GL!

@Songbird29:  Imagining a nursery is not crazy at all. If you are anything like me, you are probably imagining how you will look pregnant, how you will announce your pregnancy, what your baby will look like, what you will name him/her, what kind of parent you will be. Call me crazy, but I think that is all normal and only shows you are excited. Kind of like when you first imagined how your DH will propose, what the ring will look like, how you envision your wedding. It is just anticipation.

I know how hard it is to wait; we decided we both wanted to TTC in May 2012, but because of other obligations, we had to wait until January 2013. I spent a good amount of time going between “preparing my body” and “doing it one last time before TTC”. I recommend, if possible, plan a few really fun adventures that you probably won’t do when pregnant to give yourself something to look forward to instead of just holding your breath for May.
