I just read this in the Washington Post and wanted to share. This is an incredibly sad story and the way she captured it in her detailed status posts is even more heartbreaking.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/metro/facebook-story-mothers-joy-familys-sorrow.html
How heartbreaking. :( That was difficult to read, I can't imagine going through that. :( My thoughts are with her family and friends.
OMG that is one the most terrible things i've read in awhile. I'm sitting here at work trying so hard not to bawl. That poor baby and her husband. It's easy to tell she was well loved.
Ugh...how awful! I had read a similar story about a young mother who struggled with seisures and eventually did not make it either. Her husband had blogged about it and it was such a sad story. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family.
Oh my gosh, that is the most heartbreaking thing I've read in a really long time.
That poor family. She seemed so full of life, such a happy, upbeat person. Sad.
Very sad. The lady had actually posted about some of her experience on a DC moms messge board also.
To me the hardest thing was reading on October 28 that she was being moved to Hopkins and that it was "a good thing to be sure" and then 3 days later she passed away. It just makes you realize how life is precious and you really just never know when your time will be. It is scary :-(
Ugh. Because I wasn't already terrified enough about giving birth.
I'm sitting at work, too... my eyes are dripping tears. How incredibly sad.
I've had times in my life where I've overheard women speaking about how they want a girl/boy blue eyes/brown eyes, ect (so many of us have done it)... There is something to be said about just wanting a healthy baby and a healthy Mama and nothing more...
@crayfish- I second that... it ran past my mind as well.
@crayfish - I know right? I know someone who had twins and almost died during the delivery, turned out sheh ad congestive heart failure.
on topic: I read this the other day and I can't believe something like this can happen still just from giving birth
Yeah this was pretty hard to read :( But take note that her condition of postpartum cardiomyopathy is rare!
In the United States, peripartum cardiomyopathy complicates 1 in every 1,300 - 4,000 deliveries. It may occur in childbearing women of any age, but it is most common after age 30.
This was really sad. But on a positive note, you could tell from the FB postings that she lived the life she had to the fullest.
Noooo! What a sad story, I can't even imagine what every person involved must be going through. : (
There was one small thing that bothered me in this...
It definitely puts life into perspective. Makes me feel like my stresses from this morning relating to Christmas shopping aren't that major in the grand scheme and I should be focusing on family. Thank you for posting.
@pamplemousse: Im wondering if the got the screen grab before there were more comments? Or perhaps people posted the memories to her wall isntead of as a reply. I have to think that with all of her support more people would have written some wonderful memories. This story has me heartbroken and I dont know anyone involved. And I third that this is a while new fear of pregnancy for me now.
My goodness. That was heartbreaking. She seemed like such a lovely young woman, wife, and mother. Blessings to her family and friends.
@LoveTheLake: ooh i see what you mean. i hope she got to read some of the responses before she passed.
Really sad (and scary). I used to read Matt Logelin's blog shortly after his wife's passing from childbirth, and I just can't even imagine. You just don't think about the fact that women still die from giving birth.
I kept telling myself not to cry, but how hearbreaking! Her son was only a little more than a month old...

Oh man, that last post from her husband... that just about tore my heart in half.
Wishing I hadn't read that. Not the best kind of story for expecting moms.
i bawled my eyes out the first time i read this, but i've gone back to read it 3 more times since it was first publised because it's so beautiful.
Oh wow. There should be a big warning on this article... Tears here.
