TakeTwo: Thank you so much for this post! I am going to make just a few copies of this for when I hear the inevitable comments from just a couple of relatives who we will be inviting to our 10th Wedding Anniversary/Vow Renewal. We had a quick court house ceremony with just our parents and my daughter from my previous marriage. We have lost close relatives, had upsetting medical diagnosis, job loss, financial difficulties, marital and individual stress due to all these issues, you name it, and we want to have the Wedding we never had and celebrate that we have survived and still surviving the worst part of for better or worse.

We have been through a lot in only five years of marriage. We also want to celebrate our marriage with my family as they were very hurt when I eloped. I remember another Bee telling me that five years in not a real accomplishment, but we live in an age of huge weddings and very short marriages.

Ten years after all of the hardship you mentioned is outstanding. Many couples would have divorced for far less. I am glad that my family is very supportive and excited.

I will be meeting with a friend for brunch next week. She is getting married and she wants to share ideas for my vow renewal. I can’t wait!

PM me if you need to talk about your renewal. I hope you have the wonderful day that you deserve.

I love the fall. It is such a romantic season and that’s why we married in October nearly five years ago.

I kept changing venues because I couldn’t make a choice. Finally, my husband chose a venue in a Niagara Falls Hotel. Our vow renewal will be just the way we like it-intimate and elegant.

I actually live in the same county as the Brevard Minister and I am from upstate N.Y. 🙂 Are you from N.Y,Canada or a neighboring U.S. state to Niagara Falls? I have never been to Niagara Falls or many of NYC landmarks even though I have been to the city 6 times and lived upstate a total of 13 yrs. We are 2yrs out from our renewal and are thinking of a vow renewal in a local chapel : http://www.mbchapel.org/ and then an anniversary dinner either in a private room in a local restaurant or in a small space in a hotel if we can find one with a water view.

Your chapel is GORGEOUS.

I am from Canada. Niagara Falls is about an hour away from where we live.

We’re using a chapel in Niagara Falls and then having the reception here: http://www.sterlingniagara.com/ We’re also going to stay there for a few days.

Upstate NY is beautiful. I used to pass through there on my way to NYC all the time.

To tell you the truth, I don’t really like our chapel that much. It is okay but not my first choice. We chose it because it was very cost effective and included the officiant. At least we will only be spending 30 mins in there. Have a look: http://www.twoheartsweddings.com/photo-album/

Wow! The Sterling Niagara looks elegant. I would need a door on my bathroom though in case of room service ha ha. Judging from the pictures on the Two Hearts Wedding Chapel website, it looks like you will have plenty of photo op’s and October will be ideal for that. I posted on here years ago about a place we originally wanted to have our renewal but as I said before, life got in the way and it is still not doable for a few reasons. Maybe for our 25th 🙂 This is the place:http://www.dubsdreadcatering.com/venues/dubsdread/
