We are going to be married October 24th, 2009 – thinking we need a few days to prepare, etc. so we’ll leave for our honeymoon on November, 1st … thinking of Aruba!
I guess the Hyatt has just been redone, and it’s beautiful. Is that the best hotel to stay at?
What is Aruba like? What is there to do? I’d like to hear if any bees have been, what did you think of it? Thank you.

Windy, but beautiful white snady beaches
I have been there qiute a few times, but every time it was passing through on a cruise ship, so never have actually stayed overnight in hotels so can’t really suggest that.
However I really like it, its quiant, its small, fun nightlife, lots of watersports. good times

I love Aruba – I have been twice (once with my family and once with FI).
You cannot beat the weather in Aruba – basically guaranteed 80 degree weather every day! It is a little windy, but it helps keep the island cool. One thing is do not expect a lush, tropical island. Aruba is basically a desert with palm trees – do not get me wrong, it is beautiful in its own right – but it does not have rainforests, etc.
Last year, I took my FI as a graduation gift from medical school. We stayed at the Occidental Grand Aruba (right next to the Hyatt). We really wished we had stayed at the Hyatt! By far the best hotel on the "high rise strip." It is really really gorgeous. I have also stayed at the Divi, which is very romantic and more "islandy."
I would advise against an all inclusive deal. Aruba restaurants are great and you will want to take advantage of exploring!!
Have a blast and let me know if you want more specific information!

I was in Aruba on November 4th 2008 or so on my honeymoon (passing through on a cruise ship) and it was HOT. Bring your sunscreen! It was more desert-like than I had anticipated….beautiful in its own right definitely, but not a lush tropical paradise like I had expected. While we were there we did an adventure tour across the whole island where we went out in land rovers (with drivers). It was an amazing way to see the island.

El Gaucho is an amazing restaurant – a must try!
