@bradys2:  We have some friends that got married last year in early September and went to Aruba for the same reason…to avoid bad weather! They stayed at the Riu Palace Aruba and loved it!

I have been to 6 countries in the Carribean and Aruba is my only repeat trip! We were just back in October. We stayed at the RIU Palace both times and LOVED it. They have the best food and great service, one of the better all-inclusive’s I’ve been to. And for as huge as the place is, it never felt that busy. The surrounding area is not that busy, so we would walk for miles on the beach and you really have a lot of privacy. So jealous, I want to go back!

@bradys2:  I think you have the right attitude 🙂 A lot of people go to these islands in the Caribbean and expect everything to be just like home. If your expectations are too high, nothing will meet them. In my opinion, if the place is clean and safe, they keep the drinks and food coming and I’m not at work, it’s paradise!

@bradys2:  I am going to Aruba for my honeymoon in October, and am staying at the Bucuti and Tara resort. It is not all-inclusive, but we chose that because Aruba is considered the culinary capitol of the Caribbean, so we want to try a bunch of different restaurants. We’re also not huge drinkers, so all-inclusive on this island didn’t seem necessary. It gets the highest ratings on Trip Advisor, check it out if you get a chance. A friend of mine went there last October during Hurricane Sandy and had no weather problems what-so-ever, so it is true, you’re safe from bad weather in Aruba even in August, September and October!

Good luck!

Our travel agent suggested Rui Palace or Occidental Grand. She visited both and said they were great. She liked the layout and rooms at Rui but the food more at Occidental. We were also thinking about Aruba because of hurricanes but FI wanted something very lush and tropical so went with St Lucia because it seems to far enough South to be out of the belt (fingers crossed)!
