Hi Bees. 🙂
I thought I saw a thread on here recently about this, but I can’t find it. Feel free to link to it if you know where it is.
FI and I are planning our honeymoon. Since we are getting married in October, we want to avoid the hurricane belt. We’re considering St. Lucia, because there is a Sandals there and they have some great deals. But, its sorta-kinda in the hurricane belt, right on the edge. So we’re on the fence.
I know Aruba has been recommended as a possible honeymoon destination outside the hurricane belt, as well as Bonaire and Curacao. He’s already been to Curacao, so we are considering both Aruba and Bonaire. Has anyone been to these places and stayed at an all-inclusive? Particularly in October, though I’ll take recommendations from folks who went any other time of the year, too!

I have been to Aruba (just for vacation) and did the all-inclusive at the Westin. It was great! They had tons of restaurants, cafes, and bars to chose from. I went in May, so can’t help you on the season. Aruba was very affordable and there were lots of activities to do (we did a sunset dinner cruise, horse back riding, ATV tours).
FI and I are highly considering Curacao! Any tips/suggestions there? (not trying to highjack)

@GeorgiaBride5: he went to Breezes! he said it was nice, that there was plenty to do but not many options in terms of food.

I went to Aruba and stayed at the Divi resort. It was awesome. It has a sister resort (the Tam) where you can go and eat and drink there too as long as you have your bracelet. What I liked about it is the beach there is less populated than further down where the bigger resorts are. The staff there is so amazingly friendly and helpful, the food was pretty good and drinks were awesome. I think the Aruba natives are friendly in general though! If you do go there, I highly recommend the going off resort to the Flying Fishbone restaurant. So romantic!

St Lucia is a great island. While it doesn’t sit outside the hurricane belt, it’s only had one hit in the last 30 years or so. I wouldn’t rule it out just because of the season.
Aruba is fun, but there’s no adult only, all-inclusive resort. Bonaire is great if you’re a diver, but beyond that there’s not a lot ot do there. So, Aruba would give you a few more options.
