Thanks for the advice and sharing your honeymoon details. I've always heard Aruba is absolutely gorgeous...we are in the process of researching honeymoon destinations now...will be sure to check out Aruba! Also you are right, chearpcaribbean does have great deals!!
So glad you enjoyed your honeymoon! My parents were there in Sept. and their pics and videos are amazing. I'm looking forward to going one day.
Agreed. I know everyone's different and some really can't get the time off but I think the honeymoon is really important bonding time right after the wedding if you can make it happen.
Sounds like you had a great trip! Glad everything went well.
how was the weather?
aruba is definitely a contender in our list of honeymoon spots... we'd be travelling the third or last week in september and im afraid of the hurricane season! :O
@misshyc -- we will be travelling the first week of September and Aruba is one of our options too! I'm too afraid to chance a hurricane elsewhere in the Caribbean other than off the hurricane belt. Might be a bit of a test to withstand a hurricane in our first week of marriage!
Let us know how the weather was!
We went to Aruba the second week of September and had absolutely amazing weather. I think it rained one morning, but it was before we woke up--so we really had no complaints!
For the most part it was sunny and in the low 90s.
Aruba is well known for its trade winds, however-- and it was fairly windy every day. This might depend on where you are staying on the island, but we definitely had a few times where the sand whipped us while we were lying on our lounge chairs!
Overall, though, we had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Bucuti Beach Resort/Tara Beach Suites.
OMG! My fiance and I just booked our tickets and reservations to Aruba and we are going to stay at the Tamarijn.
What were the rooms like? Did you get special treatment for being on your honeymoon?

We got back from our honeymoon on Monday.. we were in Aruba for 8 days. It was the perfect amount of time. It was so much fun. It was my first all-inclusive and my first island trip. The flight was about 4 1/2 hours, but a little longer on way there due to wind.
I would totally recommend this island. It's safe and beautiful. We booked through cheapcarribean.com... props to them they are awesome, secure and have the best prices.
We stayed at the Tamajrin, part of the Divi Aruba Resorts. We had access to their sister resort, but only went to dinner there 2 times. We snorkeled a bunch of times all at different beaches and saw all different kinds of fish.
We used local transportation to go to some different beaches, and to go to the capital and shop.. it was such a great trip.
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone planning wedding and honeymoon it would be, cheap out on the wedding and spend it for your honeymoon. It is so so worth it. I mean still have the day you want but just remember the honeymoon is where you really connect with your new husband and get to experience something new!
If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them!
Good luck to all of you planning your travels, I wish you great memories and a safe journey.
