asianyoushi:  If you ask the bride and groom for pics, won’t they end up paying for them?

If you haven’t even spoken to them for 5 months, I would order and pay for the pics yourself.

Unless it’s immediate familly, I am quite content with the pics we take oursleves at weddings. Why pay for profeesional pics to join the collection inside the ottoman (where we keep all our pics)?

I sent my guests photos with their thank you cards but I’ve never received photos from other weddings, didn’t know people really ever did that. I’ve never asked or order prints from others weddings.

julies1949:  I think she means to send them the digital copies or link to download and print on her own for a lot cheaper. My bridal party and some family asked for these and downloaded themselves.

MrsN14:  she said copies of prints.

I think that it’s inappropriate to ask most young couples just starting out to bear that expense for their guests.

If the couple has the rights to all their pro pics, I doubt they woould have included the link to the photographer’s sale site.

If it were me I would email you the digital photos of what you are after, as I imagine you can’t save the photos from the site (I think I get what you’re saying?). I would happily send you the digital version to print yourself.

Also, we received obviously the finished pro pics from our wedding on discs to do with as we pleased. Our photographer did post guest photos with options to purchase on the website.

asianyoushi:  If they have digital copies then just ask them to email you some pics. I wouldn’t ask for 10 though, probably no more than 5. I had people ask me for some pics from our wedding and I was more than happy to email them to them.

asianyoushi:  You could probably take some screen shots of the photos if you can’t right click to save. Although, I’m not sure of the legality of that and I don’t want to offend any photog bees here. So they might be able to tell you if that could end up compromising the b&g’s contract.

I think it would be ok to ask for digital copies from the bride/groom after they have received the cd themselves.  That will cost them nothing more than finding the photos you seek, and attaching them to an email.

asianyoushi:  we have the rights to our pics and I offered to send my bridal party any that they wanted.  Although the only person that seemed interested was my bridesmaid who ended up paying $9 per digital file from my photographer, because she felt it was the right thing to do.  Just be glad you’re actually getting a print for $5!

For me, I have no problem sending anyone who wants them the files.  They are mine to do with as I wish.  I paid thousands for them, after all!

Most of the weddings I have attended, the photographer usually posts the albums on their websites. They should give the bride and groom and password for their specific album and share that with friends and family.

if you are close enoigh to be attending the wedding I see nothing wrong in a few weeks (after they are situated) asking if they have some access to pictures their guests might like to have of their own.
