- Wedding: May 2012
I’ve had a really tough time with finding the perfect shoe. I originally purchased a pair of used Louboutins from ebay that went perfect with my Marie Antoinette feel wedding. But when I received them, they seemed too themy, and too narrow, and just….not right!
My mom than said I should go with a typical bridal shoe, which I never wanted, and so we purchased a pair on clearance at Priscilla of Boston. When I tried them on in the store with socks, they fit ok. But when I put them on at my fitting, I realized they were stretched beyond belief and must have been a sample shoe. All and all, they were a nice shoe, but basically too small and not what I wanted at all.
While browsing eBay one night, I came across an auction that had ended with no buyer on a pair of BEAUTIFUL Rene Caovilla shoes. I had recently been on a kick with this shoe designer, because the shoes are BEAUTIFUL. Intricate and lovely and a little unconventional. Unfortunately, most were WAY out of budget (over $1,000!) or too high (I need a 3.5 or lower). But this auction had ended and I noticed that no one had won them in another auction. So I decided to email the seller.
Much to my surprise, the shoes were still available! I decided to take the risk and go with them since the return policy was 14 days (pretty good for eBay). Best of all, I got them for $300.00, which is still A LOT, but much below retail, and they were in GREAT condition.
When I received them in the mail, my heart stopped. I was having such a tough day, and these were just the perfect way to turn that around. They are everything I wanted!!
Lately, planning has been tough but thinking about my shoe, I am SO excited. I feel like my shoe story is much like the story of my Fiance and I. I was picky, lots of nice but not perfect shoes, but finally, the PERFECT one.
Lol, I know it’s not that serious, but it all worked out and keeps things in perspective.
