Weddingbee boards

So I saw a post over on the Rings board about what to do if you don't like your ring and it got me thinking..... all of us over here on the waiting board are so excited to get engaged that the guy could propose with a rubberband (or no ring at all) and we'd be just fine.

But let's be honest here. Even though the guy and the marriage is way more important than the ring... we all have that perfect dream ring in our minds that we'd get if we were picking it out and money was no object right? So let's dream a minute that our guys just won the lottery and told us to pick any ring we wanted!

I'll start. My absolute dream ring would be about 1.5ct cushion cut solitaire (no halo) with a micro-pave band. I tried on a 2ct ring and I thought it looked a little silly on me because I have little hands and I don't wear much jewelry. But 1.5ct looked just big and really pretty! That being said, I suspect that what my guy is shopping for is a .75-1ct round or cushion solitaire on a simple band... and it will be beautiful!! :)

Ooo that is beautiful! I don't know much about different brands or anything. But the Novo looks like a cushion to me so that is AWESOME. :)

UM, can I play too? even tho I have my ring, my dream ring would be a 1.75 ct round diamond  in a very delicate halo setting with a very thin band...Like this one, only thinner and without the prongs:

@LovestheBear- I love the first e-ring with the second band! So pretty!

@buckwheatis- your dream ring can be whatever you want it to be! And lucky for you, you've probably got a much better chance of getting your perfect ring than i have of getting mine ;)

so i have three and since i probably won't know which one i will show all three :D in order of my personal preference

@runrgurl10- so pretty! I love halos but my brother just proposed to his (now FI) with a halo ring and I want mine to be different

@corgitales #2 is actually from overstock for 175!!! Zales has it as well, it seems to be M's favorite.  my number 1 pic is the only one that i have tried on (at Sams club) and it was like a ring-gasm. i almost cried, even when i was telling him about it i teared up. shoot i am tearing up now thinking about how perfect it was on my hand.

@runrgurl: i love the thin pave settings but i heard they were prone to breaking???

@buckwheatis and jm1773: the best part about the rubberbands is you can get 250 of them!!!!

@buckwheatis: i ADORE the ring from sam's, i would have taken a picture, but that was presumptious (even for me!!) it was absolutely stunning and the cashier told me that 3 people who looked at it said the same thing, tiffany legacy.  oh i forgot my other "ring" LOVE THESE (thanks bellenga for posting them) Nope, they aren't the Carrie Bradshaw Manolos, These are martinez valero shoes on zappos for (GET THIS $164!!)

@jm1773- I suspected my bf was shopping because he went from zoning out whenever I talked jewelry to having an unusual interest (i.e. asking me if i liked my mom's ring, what the shapes mean, etc). Then my best friend told me that he had asked her to help him shop. Then the next week another good friend told me that he told her he was shopping. :)

@vintage2010: DROOL THAT YOU GOT IT!! Thank goodness we don't have a Tiffany's here, I can't go peak at the real one, only the ones at Sams and I LOVED IT!!! Is the only difference the color of the Aqua?! Heading over to look at your ring now!! eta I LOVE IT!! It looks like the diamonds may be larger as well though?! How cool is that?!

@lostinthemission you're not boring! I basically just want a plain solitaire and band! I think that nothing is boring if it is what you love, and I've gone through a lot of phases. When I was in college I was non-budging on wanting a 1/2 ct princess solitaire on a plain band. Then I wanted a 1/2ct princess with two small emerald cut on either side. Then I wanted a ring w/ a halo and pave diamonds. Now I want a cushion solitaire with no halo and pave diamonds. :) Hopefully i'll stop being so flaky and love this ring long enough for my guy to buy it for me!

@lovehim so pretty! is that oval shaped? Or is it some speciality cut? I am amazed at how many different types of cuts there are!

my dream ring is a halo setting with a cushion cut center stone like this:

when we first went shopping, i thought i wanted a three-stone ring but when i tried on a few, i was very underwhelmed. the boy didn't like it either, so on a whim i asked to try on one of the halo settings and we were both sold. the boy really liked this one custom designed one at a smaller jeweler [it was a halo setting that looked like a buckle] so we'll see what i end up getting when he proposes!

I've showed it to the BF a few times, and he knows I love it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I ALSO love this one... it's a bit smaller.

I'll be happy with anything though, he knows my taste well enough to get me something pretty and shiny. :)
