My husband and I recenlty ordered an Asha Krupps 2.5 stone from Asha Diamonds. It arrives in 2 days! It’s F/G in color. We’d like to know if it will look like a natural diamond? We plan to set it in a white gold setting with natural diamonds. We’d love to hear from others with experience with an Asha Krupps or emerald cut stone. Thanks!

Here’s a pic I found on BTD. You can find some more on the BTD boards if you search the Asha section.

@EClover: I too ordered an asha Krupps cut…it was really beautiful!! I wanted to replicate the Timeless Tapered Baguette ring. I kept the stone for a couple of weeks, and examined it under every kind of lighting source available. Ultimately, I felt that both the krupps and the round brilliant I ordered from them just looked too “plastic-y”
I dunno, maybe becuz they were loose stones and not in metals. Somedays I’d love them, but most of the time I felt like I was looking at really well cut plastic. And, with the Krupps, I couldn’t justify taking a cz and putting it into the $2000 setting I had my heart set on at a local jeweler. And I also just couldn’t get past my brain saying “it’s a faking fake faker….”
So, after putting Asha, FB Moissanite, and natural diamonds side by side…I choose a single solitaire FB moissanite stone for the sparkle factor, and it is its own gemstone. I’m a glitter girl, rather traditional, and even Side by side the best cut natural diamond my eye prefers moissanite!
Very best of luck. With all the info out there, and opinions, etc., I know it is a long and difficult decision!

@Sweetjennygirl: Thank you! Did you end up with an Emerald cut FB Moissanite or did you switch to a different cut? So much to learn!

@EClover: I chose a 1.5 round brilliant FB moissy. Again, the glitter/sparkle factor was a huge sell for me. It’s set in simple 6 prong solitaire. I do own several diamonds and gemstones…this wasn’t an ethical stance, I genuinely value the look and “mood” a moissanite offers. I had seriously considered the asha krupps because I couldn’t find a local jeweler who carried a krupps cut…and the traditional emerald steps I was shown in natural diamond were either too small or too flawed…and I dislike radiant cuts. So, a “boring” simple, timeless, classic, Tiffany style solitaire for me! And I just LOVE IT!!! I swear I’m going to wreck the car staring at it when I drive during the daytime! The refraction is OUTRAGEOUS! And no still shot photo can come close to capturing that magic 😉
Good grief I’m sorry the pic is so big!!!
And, I’m not certain, but I don’t think Moissanite is available in step cuts like emerald or asschers. They do offer radiants tho.
