    @CandyKate:  I reviewed a 1.5ct Forever Brilliant round brilliant moissanite recently. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/loose-moissanite-arrived-today-a-review-lots-of-pics#axzz2RaQRImfy

    I also just reviewed a 2ct Amora OEC moissanite today.

    Amora OEC Moissanite – review – slight disappointment…(TONS OF PICS)

    Sorry I don’t have any info on Asha but I’m sure someone will chime in. πŸ™‚

    Other great places to check out are the Better than Diamond forums and facetlounge.com. There are TONS of pics of the 2 stones.

    @CandyKate:  I don’t have either, but I’ve heard that the Ashas, being CZ, are much more prone to get dirty, and would require much more frequent cleaning. However, they look a lot more diamond-like (to me, anyway. Less flashes of color). They also will need to be replaced at some point- an Asha is not a forever stone.

    If it were me, I’d go with an Amora moissanite. I was pushing really hard for one, but my Fiance had other ideas and I have a diamond now. I love, love, love the look of the moissanite- more flashes of color and a deeper sparkle (again, in my opinion!) They also are much more durable than CZ, and I believe repell a lot of those dirt and oils better than Asha.

    There are many, many posts about Asha vs Amora on here, with many, many pictures, if you search (top right of the screen). Be prepared, there are several Bees who will jump down your throat if you mention wanting to pass it as diamond, so I wouldn’t go there if I were you. Threads like this tend to get nasty fast, I don’t want you to get scared away, this being your first post!

    Welcome to the Bee! πŸ™‚ I love the ring boards, so much sparkle here πŸ™‚

    @CandyKate:  Thanks πŸ™‚ Though, personally, if I were only buying a placeholder I’d probably buy an Asha and use the money I saved towards the Amora Gem or a setting when the Gem comes out. Moissanite is a great forever stone and, while cheaper than a diamond, isn’t cheap. To me, the Asha is perfect because it’s cheap and will absolutely perform beautifully and not need to be replaced before the Amora Gem comes out. Just my 2 cents though.

    @CandyKate:  Why spend the money on an amora if you are going to upgrade to an Amora Gem?  The AG will be out in 2015 so an asha will definitely last over 2 years so you shouldn’t have any problems with it.  I try not take my ring off before I use the bathroom but a lot of times I just end up washing my hands with it especially at work.  My ring still looks great after nearly 9 mos.

    I feel like the answer to this question is (pretty much always) to order one of each to look at. You may dislike moissanite’s appearance (it’s not for me) but since you wash your hands a lot and work in a lab, you may require moissanite since it is more durable. But if you’re definitely upgrading to the AG to diamond later, I would go with an asha. I would personally pick an asha anyway because I prefer the look of diamond over moissanite, and asha is much closer.

    @CandyKate:  i was in your same dilema…we ended up purchasing a moissyco setting with an asha center & will upgrade to the amora gem after it makes its debut…i know asha’s are more “temporary” than moissanite, but i’m definitely happy with my choice…

    now if my so would go ahead and propose already!! lol

    the betterthandiamond website is also great resource for photos for both ashas & moissanites if you want to look there…i look at them all the time πŸ™‚

    good luck whatever you decide to do!

    @CandyKate:  oh and I would add that I would only order moissanite from schubachs as they always seem to have the whitest, best looking moissanite over their competitors.
