This Swiss company claims to turn human remains into diamonds. Apparently, eye color of the diseased is reflected in the diamond coloring… Too creepy for me, but could be a neat way to honor a loved one for someone. Here’s the full article:

I’ve heard about this before. My fear would be losing the diamond! I mean, that’s definitely irreplaceable!

As someone who recently lost a baby and just received her ashes back, I’d actually love to do this. The cost is prohibitive for me, and we only have a smidgen of ashes (nowhere near a pound) but if I could, I wouldn’t mind taking her depressing ashes out of their holder and making them into a diamond I could wear every day.

I think it’s a great idea.
Reason 1: you can keep your loved one as a treasure, near to you.
Reason 2: far too much land is taken up by the dead in graveyards.
