@mousegirl:There are lots of beautiful places (national forest, historic homes, parks, farms, etc.) around Hendersonville/Asheville that would be great. One recommendation is the Carl Sandburg Home in Flat Rock. I think there may be a fee to get on the grounds, though. This website might give you more ideas: http://www.historichendersonville.org/activities_family.htm. As far as a carnival/amusement park goes, I'm drawing a blank. I do know there are lots of corn mazes around Asheville and Hendersonville this time of year. Maybe that would work?

Yay a thread for NC brides! My FI is from that area and we have been to the Carl Sandburg home. It's gorgeous! Asheville truly is a beautiful place - I"m sure your pictures will be maginificent!

We have our engagement pictures at the beginning of November and we're probably going to travel through Hendersonville up to Asheville with the photographer. We know we want some pictures near old bridges/roads and around the fall foliage. The photographer also wants to find a small carnival/amusement park type deal. Does anyone know of good locations for either of these two types of places? We're trying to communicate different locations back and forth with her to get ideas of what kind of path we need to drive (up from Greenville if that helps).
