Savannah: Definitely eat at Lady and Sons if you are a Paula Deen fan, but you have to be in line by 8:30 in the morning if you want a spot. Uncle Bubba’s was just ok. I took a haunted trolley tour and enjoyed it. Drive out to Bonaventure Cemetary. Tybee is also nice – go see the lightouse.

Asheville: I loved Biltmore. I haven’t had a chance to go during the holidays yet, but I’ve heard it’s even better with all the decorations. Definitely do the free tastig at the winery. Downtown Asheville has lots of cool little shops and restaurants. We wanted to eat at Tupelo Honey, but the wait was too long the night we were there.

I go to Asheville at least once per year and love it.  In the town, there’s shopping, the Biltmore, and tons of breweries and delicious restaurants.  If you like craft beer, you can either walk around downtown to the various breweries or do a Brews Cruise where you can be shuttled to breweries in a van.  I did a Brews Cruise last year, and it was a ton of fun.  If you like music, the music scene in Asheville is excellent, so you may be able to catch a concert while you’re in town.

Outside of town, you should see the Blue Ridge parkway if you can, however I’ve heard that it sometimes will close in the winter if the snow is bad.  I know that there are some skiing areas around Asheville, but I haven’t personally been to any of them.  But they’d be worth checking out if you like skiing.
