I haven't honeymooned there, but my family is from Hong Kong. So we visit once in awhile. I know Hong Kong is more east Asia than southeast Asia, but the weather will be HUMID. Hot and humid. It's like a sauna. Also, there are a lot of bugs, so be prepared to buy a lot of Off! The wipes are nice.. After wiping my arms and legs, I kept the wipe and tied it into my hair so the repellent stayed longer. Locals also told us to wear dark colors so bugs wouldn't think your light colored clothes were skin. They also told us to wear long pants and sleeves, but you may not be able to since the heat and humidity will be at its peak. Hope that helps!
I'm in SEA, and yes, it is mad humid here - even for us locals! So I'd suggest dressing lightly, but bring a jacket/cardigan (nothing too heavy) for going from outdoors to indoors, as most places have the airconditioning turned on full blast in a bid to escape from the weather :) Also, bring sunscreen if you burn easily.
Depending on where you're going exactly, the bugs could be a huge problem, or you might barely notice them. Definitely get repellent of some sort though, as you never know what the local mozzies might give you. Be prepared to sweat a lot, and be prepared for wet weather - you'll be arriving in the middle of monsoon season, though it won't be at its peak.

What country specifically will you be visiting? August is good for Indonesia (where I grew up), it is the drier season (though still not that dry). Bali will be lovely in August for a honeymoon. Wherever you go in South East Asia it is going to be hot so be prepared for that. Also- only drink bottled water, and avoid ice in drinks from roadside stalls or you could very easy end up with "Bali Belly" or something similar. Thailand is awesome for honeymoons too. I'm thinking Thailand although we may do a few days in Hong Kong if time permits. I'm not too worried about humidity because I am Nigerian haha. I just wanted to see if it was a possibility as I would like to be able to hit beaches etc.

Has anyone honeymooned in Asia in August? Preferably southeast asia? Was the weather okay? Any tips or tricks?
