I'm Asian so I also went with an Asian makeup artist -- I plugged her in another thread but why not here as well since she's Korean -- I've had SO many makeup artists who didn't know what to do with Asian faces, so frustrating! Anyway I loved my trial with Amy (she did it twice with me actually at no extra charge because my fiance wasn't crazy about the first look) and recommend her highly: http://www.makeupamy.com
I have heard great things about Tina from Wedding Box in flushing - her makeup is very natural and suited for Asian faces. My friend hired a MUA that traveled with her to the reception and she had 3 hairstyle changes and makeup retouches throughout the evening to complement her outfit changes. If you would like the MUA's info.. PM me and I see if my friend still has her card.
My friend, and her bridesmaids, are chinese and used True Love. They are located in the Flushing Mall in Queens. They went to the hotel and did all the makeup and hair for the bridal party. Let me know if you, or anyone else reading this, wants to know more about them.
Honestly, it's best to go with a MUA that KNOWS how to do makeup on Asians. Because we have different features, it's hard for a MUA to accentuate our features in the most flattering way if they have never worked with Asians before.
I feel that True Love is very...traditional. A bit heavy even.

Hi All!
I need help!
I'll be getting married 2nd January 2010, location in midtown manhattan.
I am looking for a make-up artist (who can also do hair) for myself and my wedding party. Most of the ones I've contacted will be out of town!
Preferably someone who can travel to our hotel.
Our wedding is in the afternoon, so there is ample time to get ready!
SO PLEASE if you know someone who does great make-up for asian faces I am looking for your recommendations!
