I asked SO if he wanted to join me. The wedding isn’t till December and it’s out of state. He said he would be happy to be my husband at the wedding. Which made me laugh. I told him that we didn’t need to be married to attend a wedding. We aren’t even engaged.
He laughed and said “OK, I’d be happy to attend as your fiance, or whatever I might be at the time.” Kind of with a smirk on his face.
I don’t want to read too far into it, but this is the closest he’s ever been to giving me a timeline. I hope we are engaged by December. It would be awesome to go to a wedding with a ring on my finger and not get all the annoying “So when are you kids tieing the knot” questions.
Cross your fingers for me. 3 years in July. Maybe he’ll do it then…

DON’T read too much into this. In my experience, and from what i read in here, men are dumb!
They say things without thinking and then let us down, so I would relax and just forget what he told.
In the other hand i so hope it happens 🙂 Good luck***

@NotablySidedJP: As cute as it is, I agree: do not read too much into it. My boyfriend has been making adorable, hinting comments like that for two years and I’ve gotten so excited by it so many times only to have it not happen.
But yes, I will certainly be crossing my fingers he means it!!! 🙂

I agree with prior PPs that talk is cheap – actions mean a lot more. I’ve seen plenty of cases on the boards here where the guys were making “jokes” about being married/engaged and in the end, the girlfriend discovered that the guy is not at all ready for marriage and was all disappointed.
I hope that your SO starts showing you that a proposal is looming soon! 🙂 Remember, showing is better than telling.

Oh man, so depressing. I was just happy to hear him thinking about it. I’m not EXPECTING anything. Don’t worry. It’s just nice that he’s talking about being engaged instead of me for a change. haha.
