She's too young? I wouldn't think so. They have these really cute cards you can buy asking someone to be your bridesmaid.
I think a junior bridesmaid is a great idea, BUT, she is not to young to be a bridesmaid. For example, I have a 13 year old groomsman.
i didnt really have to ask - my 12 year old god-daughter had already deduced she was in the bp--- so i just took her dress shopping and made a day of it complete with mani and pedi
You could get her a purse, or take her dress shopping and end up at the bridal salon as a suprise. You can make a day out of it with lunch.
I sent my jr bm (a cousin) a lovely, elaborate card. Kids these days so rarely get real mail, it was fun for her to get something unexpected (I asked her mom privately before), and I was SO touched at the note she sent back accepting.
I sent a card too! I asked a couple of my little cousins to be jr. bridesmaids. I made it like a book and put a bunch of little pictures of me with them growing up (one with me and them as a baby, one a little later, and one recent one) I used stamps to put their name on the front and wrote a cute message about how i've watched them grow up and seen their special moments and I wanted them to be a part of mine!
My fiance and I didn't do anything creative; we just took her out to lunch and asked her very seriously if she would do us the honor. Then we had to explain what a Junior Bridesmaid is! She took it so seriously - it was adorable!
thanks! i might dig out her baby pictures for this! i think i was most concerned with asking her and then her having no idea what a jr bm is.
and i think she would be more appropriate as a jr bm. she will probably end up dressed the same (if i find a dress that works for all of them) but i don't want her/my mom to feel like they have to take on the responsibilities that bms usually have.
Although I said ealier she could be a regular bridemaid, making her a junior bridesmaid kind of makes her really special, because she is the only one!

my little 11 year old sis (will be 13 at the wedding) is my best friend and i'm so excited for her to share my day. the best part is that she has no idea the role of jr bridesmaid exists. she thinks it is unfortunate that she is too old to be a FG and too young to be a BM. i'm so excited to surprise her and ask her to be in the wedding.
anybody ask their jr BMs creatively?
(or while i'm at it, flower girls too).
