I want to ask my Godfather’s kids to be my Flower Girl and Ring Bearer – they are about 7 and 5 years old. I figured I would email their mom to ask if its okay for them to fill those roles. In the email I will tell her that I want to send them little “Will you be my RB/FG” gifts in the mail. (Kids like mail!)
Is there a part of this that should be done on the phone? Should I call the mom instead of email? Should the kids get asked on the phone? Seems like if I tell them on the phone its silly to send them “Will you be my….” presents?

I would phone the Mom first. Email has its’ place but direct communication is preferred for many things. If she has questions you can have a conversation about it right at the time.
If she says it is ok with her, I would then mail the “Will you be…” presents. You are right. Kids love to get mail.

Call Mom first, then mail the gifts! I’d make sure she’s okay with it.
Side note: I also live in Quincy!

Thank you so much for your input ladies – You’re right it should be a phone call to the mom. Keeping it simple!
