This is a hilarious story I found that I just wanted to share with everyone. I found it on a website board at sparkpeople.com (which is, by the way, a great site for nutrition tracking and exercise tracking, and it’s free!)
"When my hubby and I got engaged we were both in the Navy and stationed at Orlando Naval Hospital. We decided to drive up to NY so he could meet my parents and we were going to announce our engagement. My Dad Loved to play racquetball so my then fiance and my Dad go to play a few games. While my husband was adjusting his safety goggles, (he had the raquet hanging from his wrist by the string) my father lobbed a shot that went near my husband’s face. He instincively swung his hand up to protect his face and the racquet swung up and hit him on the bridge of the nose, breaking it. While they were in the locker room trying to control the bleeding, my father said "This is a story to tell your children." Wayne replied "Speaking of children, I want to marry your daughter." My mother and I were at home going over bridal mags and stuff when my normally very easy-going father comes storming through the kitchen and goes into a room slamming the door. My mom and I looked at each other like "what the heck was that?" I went into the living room and Wayne had his back to the door. I asked him what was wrong and he turned around, with his nose all swollen and bleeding and two black eyes and said "He said NO". I just about died and my mother shrieked my dad’s name. Then my dad came out and he and Wayne started to laugh. We have been married 19 years now and I swear that if we were to ever divorce my Dad would keep Wayne and get rid of me!"
