    I don’t think you’re going to get the look in the second set of pictures, your flare looks like it starts much lower than the dress in the picture.

    That said, I’d take it to a professional.  I know how to sew and have made clothing many times, but I don’t think I’d be comfortable getting a seam ripper anywhere near my own wedding dress.

    as long as you’re only doing the middle layers and not the top one, you should be able to do it and even if you hack it up a little you won’t be able to see. save your money, this is totally a doable DIY.

    Unfortunately the ruffles in the inspriation dress are elongated and point downward which makes them flow in that direction more. Your dress has them all parallel to each other which makes them poofier. I don’t think removing a layer will do much. You should consult a profressional.
