I read an article on MSN about “New At-Home Dates”. One was a cheese tasting (cost $40 in supplies), another was taking a bubble bath & they even tried tackling a 1000 piece puzzle!
Everyone is usually hurting financially this time of the year (recession aside!) & the “At-home date” is perfect!
I have endless ideas for the summer months- winter is different though. We usually just end up playing a game & cooking a nice meal! Help the uninspired!! Let’s come up with some fun date ideas… 🙂

- Wedding: January 2011 - Vintage Villas
We’re all about cooking dinner together and playing a game/watching a movie. Sometimes we have Mario Kart tournaments, but he usually gets mad ’cause I beat him 🙂

This is a great idea. What about having a foreign experience date? Like making your own Chinese food and watching Chinese movies? Not really unique but sounds fun.

@amanda: We played guitar hero together ONCE. I schooled him so badly he refused to ever play with me again. lol

Oh and I love Mario Kart! I don’t think we have it here, we used to play it at his parent’s house.

We love doing crosswords together!
@Mouse…FI gets frustrated at me because I solve crosswords too fast. We just got a Wii for Christmas, so we’ve been having ferocious Mario vs. Sonic Summer Olympics battles. I cracked a knuckle open racing him in single sculls last night. Yeah, we’re pathetically hardcore.
We also love us some Redbox! Best cheap movie rentals around.

@LittleOctopus: We love Redbox. We are always grabbing movies from there 🙂 Can’t beat $1.

We’ll sometimes do game nights. Make our own pizzas and then play on the Wii. It gets pretty competitive. We also try to do things outside as well. Walking the dog and playing basketball are always nice.

We like to watch movies together off netflicks or hulu, etc.
We also enjoy reading and we spend a lot of time discussing what we’ve recently read (which are book in completely different genres, so it’s interesting). It makes for interesting dinner conversation and sometimes debates.

We love playing games – Monopoly, Life, Uno, Rummy, Jenga, etc.

Making fondue at home is fun. It takes a while to cut up all the veggies and meat and then you can take turns skewering the food and cooking it.
