I would get some old copies of Martha Stewart Weddings - many of her ideas are meant for home weddings. Her website also has downloadable templates for lots of home wedding decor, like banners, etc.
What area are you looking at...just Seattle or would you look into Snohomish County too?
Seattle would be ideal but Snohomish county isn't too far for me either, thanks!
Sorry...one more question: about how many people are you thinking of inviting?
Depending on how much space you home has, you could get a caterer and have a few food stations. You can rent tables if you want a sit down reception. Or if you want something more casual, you can rent cocktail tables and have different appetizer stations. Do a Chocolate Fountain and surround it with fruits, cookies, etc. If your reception will be outside, it's also nice to hang some paper lanterns. Hope this helps you. ![]()
I am having an at-home reception and we are going to do a potato bar and an apple bar. We will have sliced apples sitting out witha ll kinds of toppings for people to put on top. The potato bar will be mashed potatos with toppings as well. I'm from farm country so it works really well :)

Hi ladies! I'm getting married in Mexico next Spring, but we still want to have an at home reception for those who can't attend. I don't want to end up spending too much, but I'm open to suggestions. Something more on the casual side would be great. Any ideas? Thanks!
