Hello everyone! I’m brand new here. I got engaged a couple of weeks ago, and we want to get married this summer. This is a second wedding for both of us, so we want to do a “come and go as you please” celebration at our home to save money and to have a less formal feel. All of the park venues are too small or already booked. A family member who caters is going to make their awesome food for us for very cheap.
My only concern is parking. FH suggested having two different invites with two time periods for people to stop by. The first for family because they will be coming after our small ceremony, and another for friends later in the afternoon.
I hope that makes sense! Any opinions or other suggestions?

@SummerBird: You could also make arrangements for your guests to park at a nearby parking lot and (arrangements with the owner of the lot to get permission) and provide a shuttle to the home.

Hi @SummerBird: As this is your DEBUT Post on WBee… a BIG Welcome to “the Hive”
“Etiquette Snob here… lol” in so much as I have a lot of Traditional & Modern Etiquette knowledge.
You are basically organizing what one would call An Open House… at some point after your Wedding Ceremony which will be private (correct ?)
In which case, you can either stagger the Invitation time if you like as you have suggested or you can put on the Invite that it is an Open House from 2 to 6 PM (for example)
When there is an Open House, people tend to come anywhere within that timeframe… altho it is true that the majority of folks will probably come earlier then later.
As for Parking… I do like the idea that @julies1949: mentioned in Reply # 2
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the input. I like the idea of a shuttle. It’s something we can better figure out once the guest list is finalized.
