So I’m not like all of, strike that, half of you that has everything done months ahead of time. I figured out my table number 8 days ahead of time. (Although they still aren’t printed!) After contemplating dozens of ideas, cities we’ve visited, numbers of Chargers players, streets we’ve lived on…I finally figured it out while fitfully sleeping last Thursday night: movie quotes!
My FI looks a lot like Will Ferrell and he always quotes “Old School” at parties. And we are having a “fun” slightly less formal wedding. Guests will have a quote on their place card and then will find the movie that matches at the table. I will print directions near the place cards and they will be pretty common AND it’s a small space, only 10 tables.
Here they are:
“You had me at hello” – Jerry Maguire
“I’m the king of the world” – Titanic
“Here’s looking at you kid” – Casablanca
“You’ve lost that loving feeling” – Top Gun
“Nobody puts baby in a corner” – Dirty Dancing
“What is this? A center for ants?” – Zoolander (my friends will get it for sure!)
“It tastes so good when it touches your lips” – Old School
“We’re gonna need a bigger boat” – Jaws (FIs choice…I know it doesn’t quite fit)
“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return” – Moulin Rouge
“As…you…wish…” – The Princess Bride
