At what point in your planning did your bridesmaids actually take interest?

@MrsWinTraining2014:  since they aren’t interested in picking styles for themselves you as the bride need to figure out their budget (or are you paying?), pick out a dress, and give them a deadline to order. That’s what I did. They probably don’t have much interest. Mine didn’t so that’s what I did and it worked out fine. When I was in a wedding 2 years ago I honestly had zero interest in looking for a bridesmaid dress so the bride told me what to order and when. Problem solved : )

@MrsWinTraining2014:  Besides the date by which to order, what have you told them about getting a dress?

Some of my bridesmaids brought a few dresses to the venue and picked them 30 minutes before the ceremony…others picked them out months in advance. Everyone will be different.

@gelaine22:  agreed.

OP, you may just need to take the reigns on this one.

I just gave my bridesmaids a color and they bought their own dresses. A few of them were still looking the week before the wedding. I wasn’t worried though, they’re all responsible adults who got it done.

What are you looking for with your girls? Are they picking their own?

@MrsWinTraining2014:  We must have been writing at the same time! When you say you asked them to pick their own – what are the guidelines? If they could pick off the rack they may wait longer like my girls did.

@MrsWinTraining2014:  So you’re angry because they’re not responding to your facebook messages? Pick up the phone and call them if you’re so concerned. That seems like a much better approach than sitting on facebook bitching that they saw your message, but didn’t respond.

Also, I’d forgo discussing their tax refunds with them, especially since you seem to think that because they’re getting money back it should be allotted to your wedding. Its really none of your business what they use their tax refunds for, especially when you said yourself that they still have 2 weeks left to decide..

@MrsWinTraining2014:  When is your actual wedding? Clearly the April date is not correct.

This is why I think its better to have more control over your bridesmaids. We went to DB and I gave them the length, fabric and color and let them pick a style from there. I picked a day and we all went and they all bought/purchased their dresses that day. Any way you could do that?

@MrsWinTraining2014:  Counting other people’s money is really not a good look.  They can buy something off the rack.  Everything will be fine.
