Padiserene, we might be the only two interested, and I'm not sure now if I'll be able to make the bridal show. :-/ If anyone else is interested, maybe we can still make it happen, though. It would be fun to get to know some other bees!

I'd be up for a meet-up at some point...but unfortunately I'm out of town this weekend. 
Whoa, Duluth is super far! But I'd love to help get this Atlanta board going, and plan for a local bee meet-up!

I love to join a meet-up! Too bad i didn't see this before today.
When is the show? Lemme know. I haven't heard of it. I really had wanted to go to the SWS mag kickoff party a few weekends ago, but couldn't get a coworker to switch on call dates with me.

It was Sunday, Feb. 1st at the Gwinett Center, but I'm all for a bee meetup that doesn't involve a bridal show. Wanna plan one together?
I say we plan a meetup with or without a bridal show.
I'm not sure where everyone is located, but we should try to find a happy medium for a location.
Why not just get together for dinner? It may be best to plan for a Sunday evening dinner that way we don't conflict with work schedules or weekend activities.
Any thoughts?

I'm in the Decatur area, and comfortable with travel to midtown and highlands on short notice. I'd need a little more time for Buckhead or anywhere is West Atlanta.
Once others who are interested chime in, we'll come up with some ideas for restaurants!

I am NORTH of Atl...Forsyth County!
So it's difficult for me to pop right downtown immediately or to midtown. I love the Highlands, but thats usually reserved for a weekend..
Anybody ever go to Murphy's in the Highlands? That is a great lil' spot to eat!
I'm game. I'm in Lawrenceville, but will travel where ever.
I would be totally down with meeting up with y'all, I bet Mrs. Magnolia would want to come too. We toyed with the idea of having a Southern Bee meetup with Cheese and Fondue but never could get our acts together.
I'm about 2 hours south, but that's ok, I always need an excuse to go to ATL!

Since there are lots of cute little shops in the Highlands (a few that I can think of would be great places to shop for unique bridesmaids' gifts!), how would you all feel about having a meetup there?
We could all do lunch somewhere and then maybe do a bit of shopping together, if anyone wants to! :)

I can do March, but not the weekend of the 21st. I'm off the 8th, the 15th, and then the last weekend of the month. I kinda assumed we would want to do a weekend.
I'd like to join in too. I mostly lurk and since I'm getting married in Seattle, WA I keep forgetting to check this board too. Virginia-Highland area works for me anytime in March.

There's all kinds of great restaurants in the Highlands.
March is a CRAZY month for me (bridal shower on the 14th/15th, Engaged Encounter on the 28th/29th), but I'm open for options.

I love the idea of a trip to paper source and a lunch out. I think the weekend of the 6-8th is booked for me, but I'm sure we can find something that will work for as many bees as possible.
Padi, when is your bridal shower? Maybe we could work around the time and do the weekend of the 15th? A little Pre-St. Patty's day fun!
Hehe. Am I the only one who thinks it would be delightfully dorky-cute-fun to wear yellow so that we'll know who the bees are? :)

I'm also up north in Forsyth...but would make the trip down to meetup. My schedule is crazy in March, but once you guys pick a date I might be able to rearrange some things to make it happen.

This is fantastic! It would be wonderful if we could meet the weekend of the 14th/15th. Maybe it could even turn into a semi-regular thing. I live right in Atlanta, so I'm happy to do the legwork of making reservations and whatnot.

I will be out of town the weekend of the 5th thru 8th in Jamaica..but the following weekend sounds like fun!
Sat or Sun afternoons are also nice..and if the weather here keeps on being so darned pleasant it would be fantastic!
Brunch is great to do also. I'm friends with the manager of one of the J Christopher's restaurants here and they serve a mean brunch! We could get the private room at the Alpharetta location.
I also heart Murphy's (awesome wine list) in Virginia Highlands too! That's a great place to meet up and we love the heated patio.
Is it to late to join in on this thread and possible meet ups? I'm newly engaged and clueless - I've been to one wedding in the last 5 years and it must have been a 50K wedding. Before that everything was when we were in college and things were very budget. Thanks all!
I'll get with Driftslikesmoke, the other hive hostess for the ATL board and we'll see what we can come up with!

Hi, fellow Atlanta Bees!! Will anyone be attending the Elite Events bridal show coming up? If so, would anyone like to do a bee meetup afterwards for dinner/drinks/etc? It could be fun to share opinions on the show, compare vendor recommendations, and just get to know each other!
