I vote for early november b/c it's SEC football time. I'm tied up the next 3 weekends in a row though. Convention the weekend of halloween (coming back that sun though).
We could let the football thing settle down a bit, and then also it's before the holidays.
I agree! I haven't been able to make it to the last few and they sounded like so much fun! Early November sounds perfect...what did y'all have in mind?
I was thinking it would so much fun to go to All Fired Up right by Emory, I know it's downtown and not super convenient for everyone, but it is a great central location for all the bees in the area, such a fun activity, and you can bring in your own food and drinks (alchoholic too!). I will be out of town the weekend of the 13th, 14th of November (another planning trip to Charleston!) but what about the weekend of the 6th/7th of November? Bellenga, Lion? what are your thoughts?
Yes yes yes! I LOVE that idea. I was very bummed that I couldn't make it to Intermezzo, so I may have to bring some desserts ;)
Great! that makes two so far, haha, Atlanta Bees, anyone else a taker for this?
I say that we make the location a bit more central (although I heart Emory and my dh is an Emory grad too), but maybe instead of intermezzo, we could try Ecllipse de Luna right in same complex?
That's one of our favorite tapas haunts and their sangria rocks.
Or else we could all enjoy some fall cooler weather and some coffee and desserts at Intermezzo again!
I'll be in Switzerland from Oct. 29-Nov. 4/5, am shooting a wedding in mid-November, but other than that I'm cool. :)
OR BONE GARDEN. Bone Garden = best mexican ever.
I can't do the first weekend in November and I am toast after Thanksgiving (retail), but other than that, November sounds great.
Eclipse de Luna would be great, except they are a nightmare when in comes to splitting up checks (aka, they don't) and I swore never to go there with a group again. I mentioned Emory area because some of the bees last time had to travel farther north to get to the perimeter area. I was thinking it would be more fair to switch up the location a bit. (Even though Perimeter area is at my back door). Since we would do it on a weekend, I think that would give people plenty of time to get there.
Everyone is pretty spread out, I think it would be hard to find a location that is completely central to everyone. Not to say it's impossible!
@scissors: I've never been to Bone Garden, sounds interesting and would be willing to give it a try!
I'm new around here(still waiting!), but thought I'd throw out a reccomendation. Red Sky Tapas in Marietta. I don't know where everyone is at, and doubt it is a central location, but the food is good and they have a dueling piano show on friday and saturday nights. It's pretty fun!
During the day versus night at Eclipse de Luna is the key issue as they are SWAMPED with bachelorette parties and birthdays and groups and just packed in general on a night.
I say we do a sweet saturday afternoon.
The perimeter local is imho, a good spot b/c everybody is within driving distance. I know it's about 30 for me, and prob 20 for somebody from midtown and 15 from buckhead and prob 20 from marietta.
If the meetup is on the weekend in the second half of November or early December, I might be able to make it out there!
bump? Any other Atlanta bees have opinions on dates or locales?
I like the Saturday afternoon idea. Though I think it'd be fun to try a new place (Bone Garden is definitely on the to do list!), it sounds like Perimeter is probably the most convenient for the most people. Besides, anything further intown means more difficulty parking. I can't do October 23rd, November 20th, or December 4th...otherwise my schedule's pretty flexible!
Ok so I'm hearing that MOST are ok with the first weekend in November and Perimeter area is best on a Saturday afternoon. So I'm gonna throw out Eclipse de Luna at 5pm (I feel weird ordering a drink before 5, is that lame?) at the perimeter location on Saturday November the 6th. If I get at least 3 or 4 yeses I will start a poll to get a count on who can come.
Should be ok. I'm on call this weekend. Next weekend should be five weeks from now.
Fwiw, I don't think having too late in the day is good. I have my weekend evenings pretty much planned out and know that others may too. Love afternoons.
I say about 3 pm on saturday. I'm not much of a drinker, but one glass or two at max for me is fine, as long as I eat a few small plates.
Let's see now...before I get to pollin', how many ATL bees would like to come to Eclipse de Luna on Saturday afternoon, November 6 from say 3-5 pm? Let's kick off the fall together and fall in love with some amazing tapas and sangria!
Hi guys,
I'm new to the bees. But, I do stay in Atlanta and would love to hang out!
there will soon "bee" an official poll coming soon ATL bees. Please post your "RSVBee" on the poll thread.
@cheryl_atlanta: yes please do come! It's good to have new faces at every event! (I was a new face at the last one haha). Bellenga will post a poll soon!

Ok so Bellengas big day has come and gone, Scissors big day has come and gone, and I want in person details! Who's up for another meetup? Any creative suggestions as to what we could do? Last time was such a great turnout, lets do it again!
