I'm having a hard time making a choice on my photographer. One of them wanted to charge $10,000 and up and that is out of my price range, I'm looking more around $5,000. I also want them to do a enagagment session in Asheville, NC. Any advice would be great!
I absolutely loved my photographers - 35Atlanta. Their packages start at around $3000 and go up from there - plus, they are more than happy to travel anywhere you want to go!
I guess I should also say that I'm smitten with the work of Atlanta-based 6 of Four Creations, Blue World Studios, and Ben Vigil. They're all fantastic!
Ben Vigil was a little out of my price range Magnolia but I will check out the others.
I emailed Lacour and their packages start at $10,000! My jaw dropped!
Thanks so much ladies you have given me plenty of websites to waste time at work ;)
LaCour was listed as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world in American Photo magazine, so they can probably get those prices, but wow!
We're using 6 of Four, and love them. They're amazing, and just the nicest people. We also looked at Our Labor of Love, you might check them out too--very creative.
I would like to add some love to Blue World Studios- I was glad to see them mentioned! I booked them for my Jan 09 wedding and so far love everything about them! I don't know about travel but they are definitely under $5000.
It looks like you have gotten several other referals, but I might as well throw mine in too. I use Anachel. They'll travel pretty much anywhere. It's a new company but only because my two favorite photographers in town (friends of mine) decided to stop competing with each other and join forces. Here is their site. http://www.ananchel.com/ They are way up 400, but so am I, so that is who I know.
We are using Kelly Talele of Eclectic Photo. She's actually more into maternity photos, but her wedding portfolio was great. Even better - our entire package is under $2K. Plus, she's just the nicest chick ever.
We just interviewed photographers for our wedding next fall -- absolutely loved Alea & Kim (www.aleamoorephotography.com). The photos themselves are fantastic, but so are a lot of other photographers in the area. The place where I really saw a difference between their work and that of the other photographers whom we interviewed was in their albums. Amazing (especially if you like photojournalistic/nontraditional styles). I've followed up with their references and they got great reviews as well. You would have no problem getting a very comprehensive package for under $5000.

He is definetly under the 5K mark, but I'm not sure about the out of town e-session, that may cost extra. I would definetly check out his website!

My photographer is Shari Zellers.

She does really awesome work. She recently won an Allie Award for best photographer in Atlanta.
Her packages start at $2700 (including albums) and go up from there.
She's super sweet and I've had nothing but great experiences with her.
