Holy wow, that is definitely crazy. I had to do that when I was in a sorority in college–“dress checks”–and it was totally embarassing and awful.

True story, I kind of feel bad for her FI…but I suppose he knows what he’s in for. She can’t even spring $18 to get him a nice tungsten ring on Amazon? (that’s all my FI wanted and I feel bad cuz it’s so cheap, lol) Beyotch.

She sounds like a total bridezilla. Everything I am terrified to become! Honestly, I agree with you that lining you up to inspect you is just..weird. And has absolutely nothing to do (imo) with what order you’ll be walking in?? Sheesh, most of my party is out of towners and won’t be here until the day before. I’m just gonna pair them up as I see fit.

Also why does she need to see your dresses, wasn’t she with you when she told you to buy them?? Didn’t she see them already? And why don’t the other girls’ dresses fit? Have they just not been altered yet? I’m confused.

PS…if her MOH is failing at her job, let her fail. Sounds like your bride needs a bit of a fall to earth anyway.

Sounds like she is going to be disappointed in whatever you all do, so why not sit back and let what will be, be?

@emmrr3:  +1 Yes. This.

If they refuse to get an alteration package, exactly how did she expect their dresses to be altered? Just saying…I’ve been “cheap” as it’s called through our wedding (we have X amount and that is all we have. Period. The end), but I am at least doing stuff like letting them get the shoes they want. They picked out their own dresses. I’m paying for their hair. I’m paying my way through my OWN spa day. I’m getting them each individual gifts that suit them.

I am hoping that it’s just stress getting to her. Maybe her FI is just frustrated with how the wedding is making her behave but it’s not her normal MO. It’s stressful (as everyone knows, I’m sure). I’ve done basically everything myself. One of my BMs just had a baby (literally..a week ago) and it was her first, so she’s been off the map for a long time. My MoH is too busy with her own life and acts as if my wedding inconveniences her, and my other BM, bless her heart, is the only one helping. I’m also going to college year round and I work as well. Things are starting to get on my nerves, too, things that really shouldn’t matter.

So maybe after the wedding is over, she’ll do as PP said and get you an, “Omg I am sorry I was the world’s biggest arsehole” present after. Or take you to dinner. Or something.

@EmilyJoy:  Probably not, but it’s always nice to try to see the good in people..? Lol. I’m sorry you have to go through that. A friend of mine was recently MoH for her friend’s wedding and spent countless hours ranting to me about how stupid the bride was acting, how indecisive she was, etc…I’m just now finding out how hard it can be for the women involved (let’s face it…I was a Jr. bridesmaid when I was 11 and that’s all the wedding participation I’ve ever done). And I’m only finding that out through my own planning experiences and being “let down” by the people I thought were going to be there for me (and who were so excited to do so initially). Now I’m kind of glad that most of my current friends were already married when I met them, lol!

@EmilyJoy:  I’m sure I’ll be a BM or something at some point for a couple of my younger friends, but at least now I know what NOT to do. 🙂
