A friend of mine is getting married in May, and asked if I wanted to attend a Bridal Show with her in a couple weeks – if she decided to go. I went to another one with her this past summer, but it was VERY small with only a handful of vendors. This one is pretty big, and the start of the Bridal Show season in our city. I told her that I could come with her, but then got some questions in my head, ha.
As I am not engaged yet, am I able to sign up for anything? Specifically, the grand prize?
I’ve been with my BF 3 years (in November) and know an engagement is coming, I just don’t know when. So, I MAY be using some of these services in 2014, but who knows.
At the small one we went to, I did get questions as to when my wedding was – and obviously wasn’t wearing a ring. We just told the vendors that I was soon to be engaged, ha. I guess I can play that same thing at this one, or just state that I’m just with the bride to help her out. I think it’ll be fun just to see what’s out there.

I would go, but I wouldn’t sign up for anything. What if you win and they start asking questions?? Have fun though!!!

I wouldn’t go to an event unless it was relevant to me or I was in someone else’s bridal party and was going for support.

I would go in support of your friend but wouldn’t enter to win a prize. Imagine the awkward conversation when you win and they call your house and your SO picks up the phone…Or even if you don’t live together, how do you explain the sudden bridal prize you won? Wedding shows are fun though 🙂

@Kacie209: Honestly, I went to one, and signed up for a few things, and told them that I was still waiting. Apparently, it’s pretty common.

I went to one quite a number of years ago. I made the mistake of signing up for stuff and OH MY GOODNESS the phone calls. I would go to get an idea of what kind of stuff you would like, but try not to sign up for anything. Have fun!

Don’t go! They will never leave you alone. Constant phone calls. Really annoying, and useless.

I was at a bridal show and a couple who was just dating won the grand prize honeymoon. When they went up on stage for the prize, the hostess called out the girl bc she didn’t have a ring- turned out she wasn’t engaged so they picked another winner. The prizes might specify that it is for an engaged couple. There might be a couple things you can sign up for. All my friends who came to a bridal shower with me entered for a boudoir shoot- the ppl working at the booth encouraged it. My cousin actually won! Have fun!!
