There's a pretty active Casablanca Brides thread. :)
That's a very pretty dress, have you tried it on yet?
I am a street size 16 (my Casablanca gown is a size 22, although that's mainly because of my boobs!) and I found the 1900 didn't look great on me. It was my DREAM dress going into to the salon. I obsessed over it, actually. I put it on and nixed it right away. I think for fuller figures the drop waist is really flattering. I was so nervous to go into the salon, but once you find something flattering, you feel so great!
I ended up going with Casablanca 1865. I love it so much! But I haven't seen anyone else on here with that dress.

So my advice is just go try on a bunch of dresses before you make any decisions. You might suprise yourself!

I'm really happy to announce that being a plus-size girl I was SOOO relieved to stumble across Casablanca at our local boutique here. While the sizes available in store were still too small, I was elated to find out that they will custom make ANY size according to my measurements!! The way I see it, I may not look like the typical bride, but I searched long and hard to find the man of my dreams and so I deserve to at least FEEL like a princess for a day! So anywho...I'm looking for some ideas or suggestions about my ideas for my dress. Here's what I'm deciding on:
I really love the idea of 1900, but am learning to love 1923 as well. Being that we can essentially mix and match whatever we want I am thinking that I would like the bust of 1923 with either regular straps or strapless. (I'm way too top heavy for halters, they always yank on my neck!) Then I would like from the bust down to be the lacey 1900 design. Then if possible, a laceup/corset back.
I really need something empire-waist with an a-line silhouette (Overall 1900 exemplifies this perfectly.) because being a plus size girl with a belly, I can't have anything form fitting as I think it wouldn't be flattering at all.
Tell me what you think and if anyone has ANY of their own pictures in their Casablanca gowns, especially those who are wearing 1900 & 1923, post them! I'm so excited to see what it looks like! I want to be 100% sure of my choice before I spend at least $1000!
