ATTENTION ALL BEES: AVOID: email@example.com
I recently tried to sell my dress under the classified ads on this site. All went well, I found an interested buyer and sent pics and other information to make a successfull transaction. Again, all went well until this email,
“Am sorry for the delay,I have a family issue, my wife was rush to hospital, they discover that she has a breast cancer and they have to perform a surgical operations. The payment was sent out today by my assistant but i discovered that somehow She over paid U. The money that was meant for my wife medical treatment at the Hospital was sent to U the name on it is correct and the only mistake there is the Amount. However,i can trust U with this. When U receive payment, Deposit it in ur bank and when he clears i will arrange for the pickup and the rest fund overpaid. Thanks”
Red flags for me:
1. I asked for “her” name and some other info to veryify if this was legit, and I never herd.
2. emails were very impersonable.
3. Sentences were not complete. (some broken English)
4. I offered to pay for shipping, and the buyer insisted that the money and dress were picked up in person
5. Selling to a man.
5. Cancer is not joke.
So again, if you are selling and a MISTER firstname.lastname@example.org tries to buy from you, KICK HIM TO THE CURB!!!!!!!
