Weddingbee boards

Hello,

I know that this question can't be answered with a simple yes or no. But I was wondering the hive's oppinion. I opted not to do bridesmaids and groomsmen per say but instead to have our siblings standing to either side of us during the ceremony. To my right will be my 2 sisters and Dani's sister. And to my left will be Dani's 2 brothers and my 3 brothers. I have asked the girls to buy a knee/calf length light green dress. But I have left the exact colour and dress up to them. And I've asked the men to wear suits, preferably dark, and that I'd provide matching green ties for them. I'll get the girls matching corsages and the boys matching boutonniers so that there is some sense of consistancy. How do you think this will look? Is it too chaotic and different? I like giving them some freedom and I didn't, and my FI REALLY REALLY REALLY didn't,, want them to be forced to be dressed the same. And if any of you did something similar please send pics! Thx!!!

I did almost the exact same thing!  Our bridesmaids each wore a knee-length green dress.  All the groomsmen (plus our dads and brothers) all wore their own black suits and we bought them each a different color green tie.  It all looked great together.  Here are some pictures.

Oh that looks great! Do you think that I should let the men wear any green ties that they want? My bro in law to be seemed a little disappointed that he couldn't wear his own tie...he is stylish you see...so what do you think?

Thanks!  We bought the ties, mainly because we wanted control over the colors/patterns and wanted to make sure that they complemented the dress of the bridesmaid they walked with.  We included it as part of their groomsmen gift.  I think letting your brother wear his own tie is probably fine, as long as you check it out and "approve" it.
