I’m not sure how much of a market there would be for number 1 given the amount of free ceremony outlines, readings etc. I have found on the Web? Maybe number 2 might be a goer?

I probably wouldn’t – as a previous poster said, there is a lot of information out there for free online, so I wouldn’t be too excited to pay someone for the information. Especially when there are so many different customs, traditions, religious beliefs, etc. around wedding ceremonies – I think it would be almost impossible for you to include all the information relevant to everyone.

Besides, if I wanted a custom ceremony specific to myself and my partner, I wouldn’t feel right having a stranger do it – that doesn’t feel very personalised to me. Sorry!

While it’s a nice idea, I just don’t think many people would use that service. My favorite part of writing our ceremony was that I was the one writing our ceremony. It made it inately us. We didn’t have a paid officiant performing our wedding (we had our coach), so we wrote it to reflect us as a couple. I don’t think people who want a personalized ceremony would choose to pay a stranger to do it over spending the time themselves to research and compile their own favorite readings and bits.

I guess I wouldn’t because my officiant does that as part of his job.  Well he basically helps us to prepare it…works with us.  Gives suggestions as well.  He’s sent me dozens of examples from what he has done in the past.  Could you maybe look into becoming an officiant?  Is that something you could be interested in?  Then you could do it for some couples as part of your pay if they needed it.

@april13th:  We had a family friend who is also a celebrant, so she organised the ceremony, vows, etc. She also did a little spiel about myself and my husband at the ceremony, which was nice, because she’s known me since I was a little girl.

@april13th:  We didn’t do a homily- it was a very secular ceremony. Our coach said a few words about each of us since he knew us personally (I didn’t tell him what to write), but other than that the ceremony flowed from readings to declaration to vows and rings pretty seamlessly… I wanted a ceremony on the shorter side.
